Are you trying to upload from your PC or link it directly from another source that blocks linking to/from remote sites? Is the file too large?

Directly from a file on my PC, which is a 50 KB PNG. So not large at all.

There was a thing not too long ago, site was broken for avatars, probably is again. Just standard stuff.
