I'm leaning toward the latter, -1STR for +5MND on STR/MND WS modifiers? Spiral Hell, 1 hit, Chaos Sollerets.
Guillotene, 5 hits, if acc is uncapped the dex should > the mnd. If acc is capped, af+1 should win. Chaos Sollerets +1
The 5 MND gives just over 1 Weapon Skill Secondary Modifier, that will add more than 1 STR (unless that 1 STR means you are consistently breaking into the the next fSTR tier). Edit: Beaten, and yes I was assuming acc was ok and guillotine. Spiral Hell is STR and INT mods, so Heca would be best there (as the 5MND does nothing), the same applies to Insurgency. guillotine is 4-hit but the logic is still sound. I agree.

Spiral hell is STR\INT, soo. Heca -> AF+1 Feet for that.
For guillo, it depends if your acc is capped. I use chaos+1 feet while DB is up, heca when it isnt. lulz. I didn't bother to go look up the mods, was just going based on the OP. Oh well.

Not 100% true, attack would also be a consideration (although not relevant in the hand slot). But this is only once you cap fSTR (which is 130+ STR for perdu sickle on merit mobs, but it varies a lot depending on mob) Attack seems to do a lot more than STR on Guillotine since it has really crappy mods so to me the Alkys aren't worth the price for that WS. I'd definitely use them with GS though.
Dracondria is correct in my opinion. Att and Acc are the big stats to look at with guillotine. The mods are so low that the benefit of high Att seems to deal out more damage.
I use the Plastron set for guillotine damage. It has a nice amount of str and att built in so you get direct damage from att and some str for your mod. Abyss Cape ftw then on multihit? Cuch./Forager's for single hit?
I would say it depends on your acc set up. If you already have some acc gear then go with foragers/cuch. for your guillotine too. But if you need acc gear, and notice you are having problems with your guillotine hits connecting, then yeah abyss would be nice.
Personally, I would advise foragers as the att seems to = lots o damage, plus it has a nice amount of str. And in that mind set maybe amemet +1 would also be a good option depending on your gil situation. Actually seeing as how Abyss Cape is 14 ACC for Guillotine, I'd say use that since at the least, that means you can swap out Snipers or whatever for STR rings (or whatever).

Cerb Mantle +1 parsed a lot higher. ( I'm pretty sure a Forager's/NQ Cerb Mantle would be fine as well. ) I will say this, Abyss Cape is great to macro in for Dark Magic spells. |
