Real answer: It wouldn't stay civil, there were mass amounts of reports from it and rather than back-modding, I figured nuking would be better. You guys tend to remake threads anyway.
why not just ban the idiot spamming the report button? its the same one who was praising the benefits of eugenics.

I've said this before, but I do as little direct moderation as possible, because I mostly want to leave it to the mods. In part so I don't step on toes, and in part so I can be a route of appeal if someone doesn't agree. I mostly post in the P+R threads so that people don't get to the point where mods DO get involved.
For the record, I didn't care if the thread got nuked either way. The value of that thread had been that it was outside of P+R, and now it's not, so ehhhhh

i dont see this as censorship tho. id have rather it been locked sure, but no great secrets of life were being unveiled in there. it had basically devolved into most everyone agreeing or at least being able to talk about it normally on most things, and a few people espousing psychotic ideologies.
