Bidding in yell
I find this extremely funny that while there are some people that are honest and don't want to ruin their reputation there are those that would drive up a price if people are desperate to own an item. Then you got the ones that defend this type of thing and don't think it can be very misleading. Naming a high price with OBO would be better then just take the highest bid that comes in like the good ole days.
If they shout obo/no price they're fishing for idiots, don't be the idiot. Don't fall for "negotiable" either. Or "good price" or "below AH".
Yeah, it's funny, until you realize some moron is about to get ripped off. And then the rest of the morons make that the new normal. Asura.Eiryl said: » And then the rest of the morons make that the new normal. Too much of this in most aspects of the entire game. Offline

(item) (Do you need it?) (Bazaar) <pos> no you cannot have the *** price what are you crazy
I've kept items that I did not intend to sell in my Bazaar at above-average prices thinking, 'No one would ever pay that price for this'. Only to have people buy them. So idk lol.

A fundamental lack of understand of how economies work and the push in education towards a more socialist model gets those youngins' mad about capitalism. Games like this with no/little economic rules in place show the natural tendency of people is towards capitalism. Supply goes down, price goes up. Demand goes up, price goes up. Pretty simple, really. Pretty simple, really. ^ this and /thread Actually let’s add a little more. Complaining about a free market economy isn’t going to change the capitalistic mentality of anyone. That said, as others have mentioned, if someone wants to sell a Shamash Robe for a billion Gil, and someone wants to buy a Shamash Robe for a billion Gil. There is nothing that your complaints are going to do to stop that transaction. See, to put it another way, “an item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.” That said, the OP is the same guy who was complaining last night about a Shamash being sold in shout. Let me tell you something OP, I have sold Shamash Robes before, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to respond to all the tells you receive. I have both asked for a price such as 300M and asked for bids. Well let me tell you something, even when I asked for say 300M for one, if I receive a tell for 600M do you think I’m not going to take it? I’d be stupid not to. You can’t control a fee market economy, you can’t control people’s natural tendency to be guided by capitalism. So, if you’re going to complain about every time someone sells a Shamash because they are in extremely high demand on Asura, then it is you who looks desperate. /thread Offline

I don't blame the students. I blame public education.
Guys, let's be nice and all chip in to pay Carbuncle.Ziekwalt's student loan.

Except actually spend MY money on it. fonewear said: » All I know about the economy is that if it glows it is good ! If you don't glow, you don't go. If you want to put an end to something like this, simply bid high and just don't show up. THE END There's no need to put an end to this. Transactions are between the seller and the buyer. It's nobody else's business. People who get upset about the details are just children screaming "not fair" because they wanted the item for whatever amount of gil they felt like paying. Welcome to the generation of kids raised by snowplow parents. I'm blown away when I think that I was tougher and had a better understanding of the world at 6 years old, than most thirty-somethings do today. Offline

The market will market. Idiots will idiot.
You can't stop an idiot from paying "too much" if they want to. Offline
