If I know where you are, I'm 100% sure it's the portal behind you at the zone line lagging you out. I can't recall if it's because of it being an HD mod for it that's too big or just because it's a thing that happens

try it near the zone lines/portals in the other dyna-d zones to confirm

i dont think that's it. it seems to happen sporadically in any area/zone/instance/situation. its completely random.

the only graphics mods i have installed are the UI Pack for reference.

Play without windower see if it occurs.
Then if it does, do a file check, in Pol before you login is the button. Then try without windower again.
If it still happens it's a windows issue.
Do you have legacy checked in you add/remove advanced part of windows?
It's worth a try to figure out the issue.

I left the game runing over night in non-windower mode, and it didnt crash. Its definately related to windower. i did a full reinstall last weekend to try and fix it, but it didnt work.

It most commonly happens when Running any kind of console command to windower - E.g. //gs reload or //timers c triezak 7200 d.

I also get a second kind of crash, but its not as bad as i can usually warp away from it.

When this bug happens- i cant move from the spot i warp in at. it most commonly happens in miseraux coast- last night it happened in bastok mines for the first time.

If you play without windower and it still happens it is possibly a driver issue (are you on a desktop or laptop?). I used to have slowdown issues around glow semi transparent textures like the lights near the mog house in windy for instance.

Hardware wise i'm using a fairly good PC; Currently I can run MHW on max settings 3k 60fps with virtually zero issues.

it feels completely random as to when it will happen. ive had it happen in sandy when someone cruises by with their bot army, ive seeni t happen when im alone out in dynamis, ive seen it happen in just about every area/instance.

i never experience any kind of visual/graphics lag/slowdown/stutter before it happens. Once it happens my FPS Tanks down to 5 FPS, all of my menus go invisible, my text logs go invisible (but they still show the auto trans brackets)

If i wait a few mins, it sometimes stops, and everything goes back to normal.

This is an extremely frustrating issue because it loves to happen when ive gotten my *** into danger lol.

My guess is its some kind of undocumented windows 10 Windower bug.

Simple probing question based on reported issue and screenshots:

Are you using Reshade and DgVoodoo2 when playing FFXI?

Did you recently upgrade hardware? Specifically; your graphics card.

Havent done either- At work. Will try later. I tried everything else you've suggested.

Are you using that addon that bypasses choosing warp locations?

Nope, didnt even know that existed? Whats it called incase i randomly clicked it on.

For reference - it happens about 60% of the time i enter a console command after playing longer than an hour. My guess is some kind of memory issue regarding windower. it can happen without entering a console command, but happens most commonly when i do.

I had a similar issue after I upgraded my card last year. This was due to that hardware change affecting DgVoodoo2's settings.
Specifically "Memory Allocation" and "Discrete Graphics Card" were reset to default. If you're using high resolution texture packs you more than likely have it installed/sitting inside the games directory and just need to adjust the card and memory settings.

Looks to me like you may be using the Highlights add on. The one that changes the color of party members names. That add on has been glitchy for a while now. Turn that off and see if the problem goes away.

For FFXI you'd find it wherever your POLBOOT.exe is.

Basically

C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI

The first issue I have ever seen when using multiple instances, which is fixed by using the Sandbox Plugin.

Both of the issues are memory related, and likely due to an addon consuming a lot of resources.

i figured that was probably the issue. i tried 90% of the stuff to troubleshoot on my own, and came here kind of a last resort after asking around yielded no results.

What is sandbox? is it in the windower addon list? or do i need to go trolling github?

It's a thirsty boy.

BTW Your black warp and dyna-D issues are unrelated. I used to have the black warp issue, but fixed it. I don't remember how though.

Ah, okay. I'd try running dynamis without battlemods. I don't even use it anymore because it's too heavy in laggy situations.
