its the 500 damage roe and a few others, thats why half are drg for the piercing damage

It could be used from the time they pulled Aurix until the time the emergency maintenance happened, but that was all of a day and a half. Never mind that it gave them easy and recent evidence to catch people who ran to the next best NPC immediately.. it could have been intentional.
