Im just returning and attempting to begin this daunting process of leveling this blasted thing.
Can anyone give me tips on the best ways to do this? preferred synths and so on. I know it'll be time consuming and im not worried about that, but just any info that'll make the experience less painful would be appreciated. thanks much.

I assume you mean the Craftsmanship?
Stick to a rotation of low level synths. Try to hit the objectives as often as possible. But, don't chase after some of the objectives that are stupid. Do a couple synths and it will remove the stupid one. Don't spam one synth.

aye, thats the one. that'll go for all synths to stage 3?
Yeah. If you spam one synth you will get -synth success and won't get points for anything that's not an HQ/or hits objective.

Takes about 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h for the 4 stages just spamming. If you're doing it by hand you might break even on time by preparing some alternate synth mats for objectives, but effort/thought-wise it's really not that bad spamming one synth.

That is the only synth i've done for ALL steps of my crafting shield with no issues.
Its time consuming but it works and its cheap. Farm your own crystals and it doesn't even cost anything to do.

You need a lot of silk thread and silk cloth for crafter points, It's where 90% of my shield points came from.
Maybe look on server see what items cheapest to make for crafter points make lots of base materials for skilling up shield, but remove shield while you making them so you don't lose valuable HQ crystals.

I took the chocobo feathers up to 52.50% on stage 1 and after stacks and stacks it seems to have just stopped in progression.
Has there been some sort of patch that stops progression with the same synth?
