I broke down in tears...

Nope, should invest your emotions on maybe poverty, illness, starvation, human trafficking, drug abuse, sick children, and global slavery to name a few instead of crying about this game.

I had the same, but I'd rather blame on the pre-period period then being depressed. Hormonal balance can mess with how emo you get... just saying this while assuming you're not a duder... like 99% of this forum.

I actually did shed a few manly tears at the end of Rhapsodies.
Specifically when Iroha bows down to you, the player, and you realise its the entire FFXI Dev Team thats speaking to you directly. It kind of hit me pretty hard and made me really happy to see, and thats right when the music hits. So yeh, that specific scene did draw a few tears from me. Asura.Evilddstroyer

It's truely disappointing in how the comment section of this post has been responding to his/her question.
Yes, you are normal. SE specifically gathered all of the plot devices that would pull on our heartstrings in order to close off the main story. It is why I think RoV is my favorite story, by the end of it I felt like I had a huge hole in my heart. Don't worry about what these guys are saying, everyone expresses emotions differently. :) AliceEternal said: » During the story endings/near endings of Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Aht Urhgan, Seekers of Adoulin, and Raphsodies of Vanadiel i started crying for some reason.. am i depressed or just overly emotionally invested in the story? anyone else? ;_; WotG too to an extent. Other stories are kind of neutral to me, RoV is very nice as a conclusion but I'm really annoyed by the fact that all of this is almost 10 years too late to the party. Perfectly normal. I liked the stories FFXI weaved, it was an important part of my online experience.

I still have teary eyes when watching CoP ending or any cutscene and not being able to skip them due to ps2 limitations.

Some of the stories are really good. My favorite was always COP.
First time I did Zilart Divine Might with 18 people, the music got me so intense. I definitely was emotional killing 5 of those guys back when that was a tall order. The music to this day still gives me the chills. Close second is the first time I saw/fought Shinryu. It's the music. SE does a pretty good job with the story, I can't knock them for that. Offline

Perfectly normal to feel something at the end of the story. Offline

I am soulless b/c all I got from the stories is Altana and Promathia bumped uglies and we did a bunch of ***to fight him. Forgot about the dude with the eyepiece. Him and the dudes in Jeuno were doing something. Aht Urghan. Beastmen attacking. Whole buncha ***about going up in ranks and a big *** robot. Future Fabulous and a weird *** cat. Some chick from the future keeps warping in and out making me run places. Get to see "Reisenjima". Soul. Less. Edit: Left out SOA. meh, nvm it. |
