Even if I was "offered" the job, I would refuse. I don't want that responsiblity and I seriously doubt any of you really want it either, except to do a constant topic-ban on me every time I post.

I think the "job" would be fun, sure it's some responsibility, but with that you gain knowledge.

We already have a JP mod. Her name is Rikapi. But JP forum traffic died utterly about a year ago, so she hasn't poked her head in for awhile.

Moderator job description is basically to act as a proxy for the red-names on the forums. Your primary job responsibility is managing and implementing rules that make the forums an enjoyable place for the widest cross-section of users possible.

Like Scragg said in the original post, the goal is to make the forums better for "everyone." That includes people who may not post frequently, or even who may want to post in the future. It does not imply just the "everyone" included in the clique of current frequent posters.

You have limited powers of topic editing, deletion, and moving. Plus limited ban permissions for the forum parts of the site. You do not have a full site ban or control over other content on the site, although you have enough autonomy and trust that a red-name is inclined to grant any request involving those things provided you use them sparingly.

I would point out that Alyria is still moderator, and anyone we choose is going to have to get along with her as a prerequisite. We don't need dueling mods on the forums.

I find both to be eternally patient, but when the need comes to have a firm hand I feel like they do. I think that makes them a solid choice. Cai would be good, too.

I thought mod wouldn't have complete ban powers. Besides I rather warn and threaten then actually ban. Unless fili comes back shes getting banned fast as can be
