Active Window Change Crashing

Whenever I change the active window from XI to something else, it freezes and crashes. I've been able to putz around for 15m+ at a time as long as I don't change the window -- it doesn't seem there is some inevitable crash coming. I've unloaded all plugins and add-ons and the crashes still happen on window change.
