the only reason I tested it was because I was already within a reasonable level of confidence that it functioned the same way. it's a logical hypothesis, such a simple stat as magical accuracy does not see much variation, if any, across any form of magic. even blue magic, which in its full form functions entirely differently from any other type of magic, shares this common trait. white magic is not in any reasonable level of likeliness going to be the only type of magic that has different rules.

in the time it's taken you to argue, jassik, you could have already tested this yourself. it's not hard, and it's your responsibility since you're going against what is reasonably considered to be the standard.

Because many similar things are not the same, enhancing spells aren't always effected by a stat or skill, not all cures function the same, not all enfeebles function the same even within the same category. Only testing proves it. That was my point, i don't see how that's so hard to understand, or why so many people keep saying the same thing as an argument.

I didn't say it didn't function the same or different, i said you can't assume it and it doesn't change how you gear it in either situation. The other guy said it wasn't how it worked.

You don't seem to understand the value of varying degrees of confidence. Knowing how to critically approach something you're currently unable/unwilling to definitively test is an extremely useful life skill. Learn it.

This why things have to be and have been tested.

Point is that it would be reasonable to assume that white magic functions the same way as black for the case provided. Assumptions based on already available evidence carry more weight than just coming out of the blue with no information to support it.

Saying that it doesn't work that way, or in some way is a deviation of what is recorded as the standard way that things function, is not a logical assessment, it's a completely unproven hypothesis with no evidence to support it.

That's it. End of. Full stop.
