Windower DL Page Flagged With Viruses

Side note , i forget if they have ads, but some times the code in ads gets flagged as 'bad' , 95% it isnt , but that 5% sucks ;.;

Their forums database is listed on Google's possible malware infected pages now but it says it has only been flagged once.

It has to be third party, most likely coming through ads. If you are patched you have nothing to worry about. The Windower files itself should not have been infected. Ads come from a totally different site which helps pays for the web hosting service -- windower is totally free after all.

Scragg posted the MD5 for the file, as long as that hasn't changed the file is still legit. I just downloaded the installer file and checked it myself; it's still good.

You can download free WinMD5 and check it yourself too -- which you should do anyways with most files downloaded ;)

Alright folks, after some more investigation I did find some malware that made it's way onto the server. It looked like the usual run-of-the-mill remote code execution exploit to run a spambot using our hardware, nothing targeted specifically towards windower or ffxi.

Everything has been cleaned up and a recheck request was submitted to google. It looks like it came back okay, so the warning should disappear within a day or two.

Same with the 404 error, trying to setup XI on a new laptop. Here's hoping I can get the .exe soon. A laptop w/o XI is just a hunk of metal ;-;

There was an issue with url rewriting that was causing some of the old links to stop functioning. It should be fixed now.
