For those of you that visit Bg you already know the premise of this thread but for those that don't it's simple.

Quote:
This thread is for off-the-cuff questions that don't merit a full topic to answer. 'What should I wear for my level 65 pup?' 'What's the best way to learn the Qutrub Blu spell?'

General Guidelines.
  • Any questions goes be it FFxi related or not this community has a plethora of people surely one will be able to assist you.

  • Please don't bash people for asking questions hating someone for seeking knowledge even if you deem it a stupid thing to ask makes you look like an even bigger tool.

  • If your answer is on the large side either providing a link or spoilering the answer might be a good idea to help reduce the thread size.

  • Have fun!

I agree with a thread like this, I made one for fishing and it brought out a lot of discussion. I will say that there are still a lot of threads created that only need a single answer, but I also think the discussion has been more open and people willing to ask small questions.

I stick with vorpal in abyssea purely because of the extreme crit boosts you can easily obtain. more efficient than stacking mind or str/attack atma for requies

Due to Vorpal critting I'm fairly sure vorpal is the best choice, unless you'r using lots of mage atmas.

Also a thread like this is a pretty good idea :3

Edit: Oh cool beans two responses before I posted lol.
That makes sense well at least it's still good for things that are weak to magic.

Would have to see how well it compares to Sanguine Blade, which has the added bonus of reducing the need to spend time/MP curing yourself (MP not being as much of an issue in Abyssea).

What does your average Sang blade do as far as dmg? Honestly I think I've only used it twice in a oh ***situation and it was only doing 750ish which for free hp isn't too bad. This was without a proper set though.

Why do hot dogs come 10 to a pack while buns are 8 to a pack?

The meat-packing side of this is easiest to understand. Your standard-issue hot dog, a product that generations of consumers have found to be convenient, comes ten to the pound. Jumbo hot dogs come eight to the pound, and occasionally you'll see some symptom of wretched excess that comes four to the pound. If you've got 10,000 pounds of hot dogs, therefore, you know you've got 10,000 packages. A few packers deviate from this rule and give you, say, eight standard dogs per 12-ounce package, but they're in the minority.

The situation with bakers is a bit murkier. Here are some of the "explanations" you'll hear: (1) We do it that way because everybody else does. If we started doing ten to the package we'd have to charge more, consumers wouldn't notice they were getting more, and we'd lose business. Fine, but why did the first guy start packing eight? (2) There is something inherent in baking tray or oven design that makes ten impractical to produce. Not true. Continental Baking, maker of the Wonder brand and one of the largest companies in the industry, sells both eight-packs and ten-packs, depending on "consumer preferences and local market conditions." What this means is that if enough people want ten-packs and everybody else is selling them, Continental will too. St. Louis, for one, is said to be a big ten-pack town. (3) Ten-packs are a clumsy shape and tend to get broken up when they're tossed around on supermarket shelves. This is close to the truth, I think, but obviously not that close, since Continental somehow manages to cope.

i believe we have a random question thread but it didnt last long. people stopped asking questions.

but i think you need to clarify what type of questions for this thread. cause the way it is, it seems like any topic for the question. is this a ffxi only question thread?

In Abyssea, as /RDM, around 1200-1300, with room to improve in my setup. Only real Atma I tend to use that helps with it is Minikin. It'll depend on mob level/family of course, and mostly I'm using it on fodder mobs to build Amber, so my perception may be skewed.

For the most part you can just macro your nuke set in and see good results. I'd just say to try it and see how it compares for you.

.05 * 30 = 1.5

5 > 1.5

I'd say no.

Even if you're using Minikin in addition to RR and your second melee atma of choice, Vorpal and Requiescat should easily pull ahead of Sanguine. That's especially true if using /WAR, which should be... pretty much any time you're not cleaving (/RDM) or soloing NMs (/NIN). Damage vs healing potential should be more or less a wash if solo, depends on gear.
