Well the difference with this and AH overbid is that in a bazaar the price is listed right there and when you buy it you've agreed to pay the price they're selling it for. People that put things like that in their bazaar do it on purpose hoping for a mistake such as this. ;; I know it sucks but I wouldn't expect you to get any gil back from it.

Espcially since it:
A) Warns you.
B) Person probably won't even see who purchased what.
C) Letter'd post lists rule.

i rly dont expect it. dont find much fairplay in this game, more like greed w/e its possible. i know its my own fault. i was just stupid. worth a try tough.

Greed is a huge factor in the assholeness and douchebagary in FFXI.
If I have something in my bazaar that I don't really want to sell, it's in there for 99,999,999. People put items up like that for that price for people, like you, to accidently stumble across and purchase.

Why do people walk around with 3M gil on their character in the first place?

You should probably just come to terms with the loss of that gil now. This guy's bazaar hunts people with lack of sleep and focus... shameful, but perfectly acceptable probably.

Honestly, I think the biggest factor here is whether the character is a mule or not. People won't risk the reputation of their main.. but, are happy to be anonymous in theft with a mule.

Insinuation would be... you can limit your exposure to accidental gil destruction by carrying less on your person.
