Pheonix Server, Whats Your Opinion?

So whats peaple's opinion of pheonix? does it have a nice population of english speaking players? is it good with eu players?

On "Phoenix" we speak English, yes.

We have a large amount of English speaking players and definately not JP only. For the most part everyone is friendly. But dont ask me to compare since this is only server i have and will ever be on^^

nono not after camparisons just after honest opinions since im concidering moving there

From what I have read about other servers im sure you could do alot worse. I have found good friends and wouldnt leave Phoenix if that helps ya

For the most part it's a great server. It's the only server my wife and I have ever used (and ever will use). We've also made lots of friends here ^^.

As for rare language issues, most people seem game to use the <auto translate> feature so in the <long time> <experience points> <party>'s it hasn't made a big deal when it's been needed. The majority of the people on the server seem to speak English though.

i think a big portion of the issue of only being able to find JP or english groups depends on the time zone you're in and what time you normally play. if you live somewhere in america and play around 2AM then you will more than likely have a higher JP population on the server at that time. and vice versa for 2PM.

Phoenix has been my home since 2004. I can't imagine ever leaving.

To respond to the third part of the original post, EU has a pretty strong representation on Phoenix I believe. At least I know at lot of my friends that have stuck around since the early days of FFXI call various parts of western Europe their home. If you do make the switch, I would suggest checking out the FortEuropa LS as a good start for contacts.
