I really want the lance from this to play with. I always see "boy this lance is pimp" or "insert comment about eyeballing jumps here". There are times when I am not actually DPSing on a target and just jumping/driving by NMs that i think would suit me to have this lance as well (assuming i finish OAT soon).

Can the gargouille be low-manned and with what? Is thf a must for lance? Is lance relegated to the "blue !! only" drop pool?

Any help is appreciated.

Duo, I dbox'd (MNK/WAR and WHM/RDM) this NM over a dozen times for my Tantra cyclas +2. Easy as long as you don't heal it and make sure you turn around as soon as it starts casting dread spikes. Don't attack until it's dispelled.

It dropped polearm each time I hit blue !!.

Regain atma VV can produce enough TP to just turn your back and WS once its in the air. That and like Oblit said, dispel the spikes and you can just TP it.

If you'd rather solo it, can easily just cannonball it to death on BLU. Recommend VV + mounted champion + minikin. Dropped lance once out of 6 kills without blue and /thf. Only hard part is dealing with bio aura when he's @ low hp. Make sure you have enough mp to cure yourself + cannonball to ground him again.

To reiterate: Does he normally not land all the time? I appreciate the answers to my first question but my second was about him flying.

He land after you do a certain amount of damage 10-15%, a lot of times my WSs were doing high enough damage that it causes him to land just right after he leave the ground. He will go from flying animation to landing animation with out doing any TP moves or magic.

He seems to stay in the air longer when you heal him while he is casting magic.

Which atmas did you use when you dualboxed it?

Completely lacking a MDT set and having a way less pimp monk than Oblit, I can confirm that dualboxing this thing is totally doable.

This is what i wanted to know. The first time we fought it was with a ninja and mage (with me as lolthf). When it took to air he was using san spells on it I thought but i couldn't remember. The next times it seemed like he absolutely would NOT land (the first time I thought it was 1 minute in air, 1 minute down) and i was wondering if it was connected to dread spikes somehow. :<

You don't avoid it. you just do as much damage as you can fast to land him. Also the less people you have in range during flight the better. A party of six means more people for a mage to keep alive during the flight time with lots of damage being taken from the bio aura and spell spam, he/she may not be able to keep up with.

Has anybody figured out exactly how Double Attack is enhanced by using Jump? For example, is it a lingering effect or does it only apply to the mob you Jumped on?

Killed x4 tonight and all the time triggered all the !!... havent seen any polearm ;_; so blu !! not 100% drop.

Got thf TH it till 9 everytime too^^

Pretty easy with 10 ppl and nin tank as soon as whm focus during flying mode and dispel rdy for dread spikes.

I think that if !! are not needed can be easy duoed/trioed^^

Lets wait a little more for "ubba jump dmg"^^

PS: i see i'm not the only one stucked at 7/10 babyblob trial:D

Yea I also dual-boxed this with THF/MNK and WHM/RDM. With GH/RR/AP, thing is pretty much a joke to do. Just gotta be quick on the dispels for spikes.
