from what ive heard, all empyrean WS are suppose to make light or darkness off each other, was doing brulo and quietus > cdc and cdc > quietus didnt make anything, tried multiple times is it broken after update or is this normal?

they make light or dark with themselves. CDC is light, quietus is dark.

CDC is Light/Distortion while Quietus is Darkness/Distortion. They won't skillchain with each other, but they will with themselves and certain other WS.

I recently completed my Redemption 85, so I was looking for some input regarding my TP and WS sets. So far, from what little testing I've had, I've been averaging around 2.2k inside Abyssea, and haven't really tested it outside aside from campaign mobs (~1800).

Here is what my TP set looks like:

And here is my WS set:

I'm willing to work for any pieces that may be better for either set.

Any help is appreciated. ^^

Ace's hose hit haste cap vs calmanic but its marginal. Personally using Jingang hose to TP in for the Zanshin str and vit. They may work even better /sam with the new sangen update where zanshin ups counter rate and hasso where you can zanshin even after a hit (assuming they let those tricks work /sam)

Shouldn't Twilight Mail and Heafoc Mitts beat those?
Also, while it's not too optimal, Strigoi Ring might be the best Quietus ring.

Pyrosoul will beat Strigoi, then yea he wants Twilight Mail (Any Body with STR on it) and Heafoc.

I just started killing chloris, should have the 80 version by friday, then 85 done a few days later.

Edit:

Just realized pyro had -MND on it, then yea Strigoi wins x:

Yeah, idk why he even concider ace's hands a viable ws piece vs Alky/heafoc?
AF3+2 is nice for the attack, but you should'nt have atk-issues on DRK, specially not with that ws.
And if you _do_ need the attack, grim cuirass is better.

Quietus ignores 10% Defense at 100% TP, you generally don't need to focus on attack as much as you would for Torcleaver.

Af3+2 body should be the last choice you pick for Quietus, If you don't have Twilight go for Grim like you said.

aqua ring

Best Quietus Ring.

Consider they're dirt-cheap now and you can spam augments on them in FoV as well.

Yeah, I have Ace's Hose available to me, but I wasn't sure if the 1% haste and 12 attack would perform better than 2% double and 2% triple attack during tp.

I've been working on getting a Twilight Mail, just haven't had much luck yet. Also, I have Heafoc Mitts on my other char, I don't know why I was using Ace's Mufflers instead of those...thanks for pointing it out.

For the ring, I'm thinking of replacing the spiral with an Aqua Ring, I think the set should be fairly decent then.

Thanks everyone!

Drop RR and wield Griffon Claw instead if you want to increase your ws dmg. RR is good only on melee attacks and better with aftermath.
Which food are you using for Quietus?
I use only Goblin Mushpot now, red and yellow curry buns are useless for Quietus, unless you have more MND than STR.

Thats what I thought aswell, but I havent braced myself for the answer so I didnt ask "what?" or correct it..

On high lv/def mobs in abyssea Im pretty sure youd still need over 1k-1.1k to reach attack cap considering wyrms like dragua has 600 def?, I dont see that happening outside of drinks/chaos/Minuet kind of buffs.

I'll try it again but every time i had red or yellow curry buns on i did less dmg than without food. For example : on Yacumama or capricornus without food >>> 1.9k - 2.6k, with red curry bun >>> 1.5k - 1.8k. Fly NM in Abyss LaTheine with food : highest = 3.2k with low average ; without food : 4.2k with much better average.
I'll test on High defense NMs like Dragua to see if there's a difference.

maybe quietus ignores so much defense that adding more attack causes a localized collapse in game physics, reducing overall damage

If you get higher than 1100 total the counter resets to 1.
