Maleficence was obviously a troll post, lol. I've never been a fan of it.
I'm actually surprised Liberator was mentioned, haven't heard anything about that weapon in a while... except that at 75 it sucked.

Gotcha. Couldn't tell if it was was or not. But yea, I think Liberator is the best DRK weapon currently. Not entirely sure, but even if it is or not, that could change within a month anyway.

I'm not a drk by any means, but the delay on liberator looks relatively huge, and the weapon itself looks lulzy :|. Is the damage from Insurgency good or something?

Liberator never sucked at 75, it parsed on Par with Apocalypse according to Kirschy's math and the testing she did with it.

Basically just like any other Mythic you build TP to 300% and Ride the AM spamming guillotine until its over (The 90 version you would spam Insurgency since the 15% boost makes it stronger).

Liberator is definatley the top scythe at the moment in my opinion, just sucks mythics are such a pain in the *** to make. If they lower the Alex requirement I can definatley see myself building one though.

Insurgency was a toned-down Guillotine at 75 (it was a couple hundreds behind)
The Liberator 90 buff should make it be on par with Guillotine, though

It is worth mentioning though in a situation where ACC is going to matter Apocalypse is definatley up there, like for VW, but inside abyssea or stuff where Empyreans are Capping ACC easily Apoc really gets hit hard.

Yea Rag is definatley very powerful in a High ACC situation, assuming the skill difference isnt effecting you that much.

I'm contemplating whether or not to build Rag or Aegis right now if I do start another Relic, the new Dyna system isnt as bad as people make it out to be.

The problem with Liberator has always been timing. If you're not fully benefitting from AM3, whether due to extended delay between fights or simply sloppy timing in building to 300 TP (very easy to do due to randomness in TP gain), it loses a lot more than a weapon whose benefit is reactivated every time you hit 100 TP. If you couldn't play it perfectly in a high buff situation, it wasn't and probably still isn't worth using over an alternative like Apoc or Caladbolg.

3k average?

Our Redemption DRK must be doing something wrong.

Havn't checked in the thread for a while but if you really think 3k avg ws for quietus is bad then how do you can fix it? I really think 3k avg is good for the ws not being a crit hit.

Here's what i've been using, Aqua rings have str+1 and acc+3 on them, best i could get so far. hitting about 3k average and 4k highs with VV, RR, Apoc.

Drop RR and wield Griffon Claw instead if you want to increase your ws dmg. RR is good only on melee attacks and better with aftermath.
Which food are you using for Quietus?
I use only Goblin Mushpot now, red and yellow curry buns are useless for Quietus, unless you have more MND than STR.

I use red curry or hydra kofte only. and inside abyssea i wouldn't trade RR atma for griffins claw because the after math is what make my DPS shoot up.

What mobs exactly are ppl comparing their averages on? 3-4k averages sound like either eyeballing or exp mobs or weaker NMs, fairy, frog, guku, gigas, mandy etc.
that's because that's the only thing people give a ***about drk for

mine were on sobek and haven't had a parse run on tougher abys mobs

from what i have heard Caladbolg > Redemption for DRK, personally i average 3.8k Torcleaver (i call it "Ruby Cleaver") on DRK with a rare high of 9.2k average high of 5k-6k

and going by from what i heard from Redemption DRKs is they only average 2.5k ish and the WS really sucks

oh um, even worse outside abyssea where you stuggle to break 1k with lolQuietus and Torcleaver averages 2.5k

We plowed through some kirin the other night also and high quietus ws was 2.9k, low 1.6k.

also i tossed the mnd rings and use pyrosoul now. i tested using allure, undying, and apoc and never broke 2.6k. used only apoc for another hour and never broke 2.5k. imo the mnd mod has something to do with the way the ws ignores def as it seems to do next nothing for ws dmg.

Maybe you're right for MND mod, i'll test both gear sets on NMs.
I just have one question : how do we know it ignores 10% 30% and 50% defense(I know wiki says so)? Can someone do the maths please?

A range of 2-3k or 3-4k is definitely reasonable for eyeballing a decent amount. And that guy who couldnt even break 1k outside is just sad. I average 2k-2.5k outside with highs of 3k, they must have broken the scythe end off to get that damn low.

How is Apoc beating Redemption on Trash mobs? Please indulge me, we both have the weapon so unless theres something yours does that mine doesnt.

Quietus/Cata are about the same WS Damage to my knowledge, Redemption is hitting much harder during the TP phase than apoc is due to the better aftermath.

So please if there is something that you know that I don't know indulge me.

I need more accurate tests with food. I still can't understand why my dmg decrease with food on. If I refer to the mechanic and the stats, @ 300 TP Quietus ignores or can ignore 50% defense (still need a proof on percentage), so if i have 1000 att and the mob 1200 def it ignores 600 def and increases dmg. Maybe MND gives you more chance of completely ignore 50% def. Can someone give me a confirmation?
I said it earlier but Caladbolg is easier to buff and have a different mechanic, so we still don't know which ws is the best between those two.

I went into making a Redemption with a Caladbolg already done. I knew that the differences between the two would be startlingly aparent ahead of time.

HOWEVER, having tooled around with redemption last night was painfully underwhelming. It was bad enough that I wanted to post here and ask what I'm doing wrong T.T
I had this ws set: with VV/RR/APOC. (<<<EYEBALLING>>>) When we were doing "trash mobs" I had a nice 3,200 and several dozen around 2k. It was shaping up to be ~what I expect to see out of torcleaver. The problem is when we started doing NM's. I literally had 3 times in a row that Quietus did 400-600 damage. I have had some low ws's when I miss the first hit of torcleaver but it was a STRUGGLE. Even after a full weekend of torcleavering Ulhuadshi (high defense mob that sucks out stats) I don't recall seeing a single torcleaver that low. Now I'm having several Quietus in a row catch my attention. (The Quietus' were done on Alfard if that makes any difference to anyone).<<</EYEBALLING>>>

I'm not saying this like I want to get on the "quietus hater bandwagon", I'm saying this out of concern for looking like an *** in front of 5 people who spent the last two weeks getting me this scythe. I'm aware that I can step up the necklace, belt, and rings.... I am more curious as to if I missed something here or I was just having a bad day.

Ashman, I don't think you're doing anything wrong... Quietus just is what it is... :(

Your set is pretty similar to mine and I don't think changing your neck or waist pieces will make much difference at all. The only thing I have different than you is an lolAqua Ring and a Fracas Grenade.

http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/216822

Numbers I usually get are around 2k+. You won't be hitting anywhere near to Torcleaver in Abyssea, but outside its a bit more respectful. It's on par with weapons outside but more so just a fun toy than anything. Who knows, maybe with upcoming DRK updates we can get more out of it. For now though, just have fun dicking around with it.
