U Can Get Fined For Not Recycling?

just got a letter from the city i live in that was a warning saying if we continue not to recycle we will be fined $25 and then $100 for each offense after that...

i didnt know that they tracked stuff like that

and i didn't know they could fine you either

if you live in a tiny, cousin *** community, they're bound to find you

Might as well charge the entire damn world $1,000,000 per country for such a crime then!

It irritates me when people don't recycle. I think it's a good idea!

It depends on the area. Mine doesn't, but up the street where my cousin lives, they do.

Because ya have to pay extra to have your recycling picked up. They'll get that extra buck out of you anyway they can.

then again we have a firepit in our backyard and one of the neighbors kept calling the fire dept on us, she also complains a lot about noise and ***that doesnt even happen

there are plenty of other things the state can worry about thou, they must really be *** if this is top priority <.<

If I ran a dump and noticed recyclables coming through while there is a law in effect, and it's my job to trace them back to the person responsible - it's not pretty but I would need to begin going on garbage runs and watching what trash comes from what place. Once you find a house that's obviously throwing away a lot of plastics/papers, then you simply fill out the paperwork, send them a bill for the time it took you to sort it all out, and then begin making money off them when they want to fight the system. It's not hard for them to do the sorting; they even get paid quite well for it.
They want to get the money from the recycling, the money from the state for having sorted it, and money from you, paying more money to them because they can make you.
That's an incredibly well thought out strategy if ever there was one.

I'd try to fight it. They can prove you even have recyclables or that you don't take them somewhere yourself so you can make money off of it

Yes you have. You think guys driving a county truck and changing garbage liners at the rest stop, do that all day long at just that place? They have to earn that truck.

If you're living in a 71,000 population city, you can be sure they keep tabs on quite a bit more than you might think.

Or you could not be lazy and juts recycle...

i really havent lol, the bins and garbage cans are out for one day only and when the garbage men come to pick it up a few hours later the recycling truck comes by, but its normally 2 young guys and i dont think they give 2 shits

Or every garbage day steal that crappy neighbors recycling and put it in yours and complain about them.

well... we used to recycle until the recycling truck didnt pick up our stuff for a few weeks, and in the summer all the sugar in soda cans attract flies and the thing was overflowing

so we just started putting it in the trash can

I used to recycle...but we hardly had anything to recycle... boxes were typically filled with random things.. liter soda bottles were turned into rockets... etc etc..
