Apparently I've heard reports of the weapons like Ultimatum and Kartika having hidden effects of x2-x3 damage similar to relics. This just doesn't sound right to me, so I'm asking on here for confirmation on it, or whether my doubt is correct.

Just been told on eye ball accounts by people in my LS that they witnessed an Ultimatum critical for around 250 dmg, but none crit randomly for 300-400 dmg

Do they own the weapons or were they watching someone else?

I agree, if this is true it's either a mess up or SE is giving us fake relics.

Does anyone else that have these weapons notice strange things about their damage?

Aye, I'll have to call false alarm then. Unless they had a long time parse and lots of data eyeballing it won't do anything.

Yeah, i just shown them this thread and they're trying to figure out if anything else in their equipment could of caused it.

Still had to make sure if it was true or not, thanks for the replies.

Not just there equipment but other peoples. Also AOE attack buffs. Or that person might have more self attack buffs since you did mention ultimatum.

Also what were they fighting? Some things have decent lvl ranges.

Is it possible that the mob might have had more def down buffs on it and such too.

Um... after just checking my old parses my DRK with perdu my max crits are in the 200-250 range (dynamis, limbus and a few merits). And that's often without a COR (just brd give march x2).

So with choas/meat/minuets and 10-15 more base damage criting for 300+ wouldn't be unreasonable.

Eyeballing like that is bad.

None crit hits(or regular hits, w/e you want to call them) with Souleater active would do more damage than a critical hit with no souleater active. True story.

IF Souleater was NOT involved then perhaps other buffs/debuffs on the different swings like someone else mentioned here already.

Ok since this is about the magian +dmg weapons. How does the +10 DMG compare to hagun? I also heard they are going to update the magian weapons a bit more so I'm starting to work on the Raden +10dmg gkat. Anyone with the weapon or know of any parses that compared both?

Also there is the randomness of pdif.

I mean at certain spots even with exactly the same mob, same buffs, def, attack, etc you can have a crit hit possibly do only about 2% more dmg than a non crit.

Answer this or I will start a new pointless thread!

Search around a bit, this question has been asked many times.

(Hagun is better.)

As of right now... hagun generally wins outside of low str situations.

Depending on gear and such assuming wsing at 100% tp hagun should be about 9-10% more ws dmg. While Raden should be about 18% more melee dmg.

I have a max-dmg Radennotachi and the only instances of multiplied dmg where on a WS in campaign, normally I did 800-900 and one time did 1500 on a mob.

I attribute it to brutal earring kicking in.

Was SAM/DNC

As for DRKs doing silly dmg on a normal hit, I see big spikes on a non-crit even without magian weapons on DRK:o

So IDK

I have the Culacula (dmg42 +15) and i can tell you there is no hidden x2-3 dmg effect like the relic has involved.
