Trusts and You

You don’t need people for a Party!

So you’ve decided to return or start playing in Vanadiel, but the games not new so everyone’s already max level, how can you possibly hope to level up?! Well fortunately SE have added a Trust Initiative which conjures hero’s from the game, who you’ve spoken to fight alongside you!
Similar to how the “Adventuring Fellow” system worked where you could call them once a day, these companions have set roles and will perform those duties, although take into account they are about as stupid as your average Valkurm Dunes Players were back in the Good Ol’ Days.
You can summon 3 Trusts NPC’s, a Pet and you Adventuring Fellow for a total of 5 players and 1 pet, which is faster than back in the original game where you could spend a day with your party flag up, now you can jump in at level 1 with your 3 trust npcs (which do not give you an EXP penalty) to cure / tank / DD or play Support roles. Note: Trusts do not level up with you, when you level up you will need to dismiss them and re summon them.

A really good Site for Trusts NPC’s and how to get started is found here:

After attaining level 5, accept the tutorial quest by talking to one of the following NPCs:
  • Gondebaud in Southern San d'Oria (L-6): Trust: San d'Oria

  • Clarion Star in Port Bastok (K-7): Trust: Bastok

  • Wetata in Windurst Woods (G-10): Trust: Windurst

You cannot have more than one initial Trust quest active.

MrHappy has made a rather good Video Tutorial of this process, so I’ll post his rather than my poor attempt.

Warping Around, because walking is for losers

Earlier I touched on Home Points providing you with warps to make getting around considerably faster, as Luc pointed out I hadn’t mentioned the other methods for travel. Firstly lets explain what’s been added.

Home Points:
Home Points have been made as places to warp to and from at the cost of 1000G for a zone that’s not in the same Area i.e. Warping around Bastok, while you are in Bastok is free.

Waypoints:
Waypoints come in 2 categories, there’s the ones that were added towards the end of the VW era, that require you to unravel clues and find the Geomatic Fonts around the World to attune with in-order to warp.
The second type is exclusive to Adoulin, and is far more accessible, scattered around the Adoulin Zones are Structures similar to Outposts, you have warps at each one which cost Kinetic Units, you obtain these by trading crystals to the waypoint in either Lower Jeuno or Adoulin alternatively you can do quests for these (but let’s face crystals are easy to get and you should probably have a large stack by now) from levelling and getting Jeuno if it’s a new account, or a returning player you can grab some for 1k Gil from the AH)

Survival Guides:
Often a forgotten form or method of transport, these use books located around the world in strategic locations that require 1000 Gil to use, unlocking is easy, go out, find one, click it. Job Done, make sure to pick up the city warps first however. A Link can be found here on BG WIki!
