Does the Soil Gorget improve the acc AND attack of all 8 hits of Asuran Fists? I've heard that it will only increase the att of the first hit.

Also my birdcamp WS setup is as follows (assuming I always have madrigal II)

Birdbanes
Tiphia Sting
Anwig +10acc +5att +15WSA
Soil Gorget
Ethereal Earring
Aesir Earring (attack+7 conserve tp+3)
Shura Togi
Bando Kote
Rajas Ring
Ulthalam's Ring
Forager's Mantle
Warwolf Belt (with 3 augmented attack)
Shura Haidate +1
Denali Feet

I used the site http://ninjafada.com/ffxi/ and with +63 acc (inclduing the +15 WSA and +3 vs. birds from birdbanes, with 71+10 DEX) I go over the 95% ACC cap by 2 accuracy points.

The reason I'm asking about the Gorget is that's +10 accuracy, and really since I'm +8acc over the cap I'm thinking I should replace it with an att neck piece? Maybe I'm missing something....


On a side note do Kyoshu Khyana's latent work with asuran fists?

I would appreciate all input.

It doesn't affect attack, it affects fTP. fTP is only affected on the first hit, accuracy applies across all hits. Vegetto would know more about whether to use it or not, but given that it's a fairly small increase due to the high number of hits I'd guess there's a better option.

Don't use birdbanes for lv 75 colibri.

That aside, the acc applies to all hits, the ftp, as with any ws under any conditions, only applies to the first hit, w/ all subsequent hits having 1.0 ftp.

Never, no madrigal II. Double march only. Even with a 2nd brd, unless you have no 2handers, double minuet. If your own acc is lacking, eat crab sushi and have that madrigal replaced with a minuet. If only 1 brd, double march, always, no exception.

As for the shoes, yes, they work for asuran when footwork is up.

I shall await Vegetto's reply lol. I was looking into the new Backlash Tash for replacing gorget if I should. It's +8att and counter +1 (although I wouldn't make use of the counter)

I'm going to assume that's weaponskill build. But yes, as Night posted, it affects fTP not attack, it simply adds +0.1 to the fTP modifier. But, again

1.0 ftp is still a 2% increase. I use peacock amulet if I don't need all 10 acc though. If I'm 100% positive that my acc is and will still be capped, I put on my justice torque.

Why wouldn't I use birdbanes as apposed to destroyers on bird camp? They give piercing damage and +3 acc. I haven't done any math but I notice a large increase to my regular hits. At least 10 points of damage.

WS are still blunt. Bear in mind the higher delay as well. Birdbanes would win if you never WS'd but Destroyers win otherwise.

They offer nothing to WS damage which is roughly 35% of your total damage, so unless you don't WS at all, destroyers are better.

I think the piercing damage over time helps out a lot more than the extra 4DMG you get from destroyers on WS. Has destroyers vs. birdbanes at birdcamp ever been tested?

ERrr I mean has anyone done date or math on it?

Yes, the math is been done. It's not just the 4 DMG on ws vs 25% piercing for WS, it's also the delay difference, so destroyers will hit more times, ws more, as well as crit more.

6% Crit goes a long way. Birdbanes are nice on earlier stages of Colibri, but doesn't really shine on Greater Colibri.

Depends on What else you have for your neck piece.
But overall its better than, PCC, Chiv Chain, its diffently better than faith torque, atleast it is for me.
I'm not sure about Ancient torque thow,

Where am I looking specifically? Lots of ***there and diff gorget tests, not all regarding acc. Though, before even reading it, Ruk is an old player and there wasn't nearly as much knowledge about the game then as there is now. I don't really have much faith in what I'm about to read. It makes a much sense as saying that Pcc has 10 acc for the first punch mnk throws, but less for the 2nd punch and/or any DAs or kicks that follow.

Im about willing to believe a journal than I am eyeballing my mnk dmg for 3 years, PCC acc doesnt decrease for consecutive hits in multi hit ws that sounds like crap to me. Doesnt even take monk to work that out rampage lvl 55-57 for drk and war eyelballing vs non pcc wars/drks at the time its all pretty obvious it works on all hits.

Also if you say PCC has diminishing acc on multi hit ws youd also say that for every piece of acc gear obviously not just neck just sounds like bollox to me.

I can't even find where he said it. did a CTRL+F "acc" and "accuracy" didn't on all his gorget topics, didn't find a single thing non diminishing acc or diminishing acc.

OP should get virtuoso belt when you can, your ws build sounds ok for having madrigal but ideally without it you might wanna look to more acc pieces.

Also about Kyoshu Kyahan in merit pty with double march its counter productive imo to footwork >> boost >> asuranfists >> cancel than it is to just boost >> ws. If you wanna use footwork use it with dune boots and dragon kick will usually top 1k dmg with good build on colibri. They are nic to have, I do own them myself but the reality of the matter is meh little use imo lol. Mamool lurker about it.
