Upon selecting a profile on Windower and clicking the -> Arrow to start POL, it will attempt to launch POL, then suddenly close. No error message, nothing in the form of any kind of error log in the files.
Things I have tried already:
* Reinstalling Windower
* Reinstalling FFXI/POL
* Running POL/FFXI without Windower (it works fine)
I can't for any reason see why this would be happening.

I just ran into pretty much the same problem.
Managed to log on with my second character without any trouble.
But when I try to log my main character in also I crash my windower before POL. After I select my profile and hit the arrow to start POL, windower crashes.
Does anyone else have had the same thing happening or knows a solution!?

Toralin: Launcher is crashing when it attempts to open Windower\scripts\autoload\autoload.txt (or one of the profile-specific files in the same location). This usually means the file has been locked by another process, or the file's permissions have been modified. It's also possible that you have an illegal filename character in your profile's name.

This is now happening to me, and it's clearly not Tora's issue because re-installing Windower4 did not resolve the issue.
Thank you for the hasty response, Zigounette. They are already disabled, so I'm afraid they are not the source of the problem. UAC is also set to not yield any warnings.
Do you have nVidia share enabled for the desktop?
While I have GeForce Experience, I have all of its features disabled at the service level.

[118 days between previous and next post]I'm having the same issue now. I can log in with my main char no problem but I can't with my alt. What do you mean by nVidia share enabled? How do you turn this off?
Encountered this issue today myself. I am not using nVidia.
