Long Login Times & Lag Ingame

Can confirm using a VPN in tokyo works for me as it did others here.

damage to certain lines of communication can cause outages just for some people because that's how routing works. it's the internet there's more than one way to get to a server, in fact many.

Just confirming... I couldn't get on for hours but VPN worked first try. So there's that...

What VPN service are you using?

Mine worked first try too, I don't want to give out which VPN services I use but I would suggest you don't use a free one some of them are privacy concerns if they are even reliable. Any good VPN service will have one somewhere in Japan, I realize most won't pay for one but I use them all the time for work.

Haven't had issues yet in Anchorage Alaska. I was just curious what people were using that was confirmed working if the need arises.

Zone servers store some sort of identifying information(IP or route, not sure.. sometimes same public IP different subnet solves it which doesn't make any sense but it can). If you d/ced while zoning in somewhere and you've failed to log in at least 5x over at least 15 min, it's storing your information still. This means that spamming will not solve the problem, the buffer persists up to 24 hours.

Changing to a different IP(preferably public, but subnet has worked for some people) will solve it, and you can return to your original IP in a different zone.

This is not related to why people are d/cing, it can happen at any time and I've seen it at least once a week for the past few months(granted, I play a ton of characters). However, it is contributing to the problem since many of the people d/cing are getting stuck with this logging back in. The VPN will not prevent whatever's occuring from happening again later.

Reinstalled game and it finished updating this morning (as suggested by SE) tried logging in again and still no joy, seems that any of my characters that are in Ru'Lude Gardens wont load up at all. Anyone got any suggestions? Or is it literally just a matter of waiting?
