Square Enix this week reported earnings for the three-month period ended June 30--and things were looking up. The Japanese publisher saw its revenue rise 21.1 percent to ¥51.2 billion, while operating income jumped by ¥13.1 percent to ¥8.95 billion for the quarter.

I mean, with all the people proclaiming doom/gloom for SE and FFXI (generally, the FFXIV players), SE seems to be doing just fine....
There was definitely a few years there where SE was in sad financial shape with the huge losses of FF14 on top of the failed development of FF15. Fortunately, they turned it around by going mobile, turned 14 into a major success and have built a lot of hype for 15 and the FF7 remake. Its too bad that Star Ocean 5 didn't get the budget it deserved tho...

It helps that they've been trickling out updates/remakes of their older, better games for the past year or so. Low effort/investment, high payoff.
At this point, though, there's nothing left to remake/remaster. Chrono Cross maybe?

They should remake FF12- Revenant Wings for mobile and add a bunch of stuff to it. Ive been playing it on my phone via emulator and its very well suited for mobile I think it would be fun with better additions.

Due to the region lock of PSN accounts, it's not practical at all (better to just get an emulator at this point). If there are physical copies, though, it makes things a lot more practical and simple to solve.
