Satellite Phones?

We use Iridium when working in certain locations, which from what I know is the absolute best phone and service.
Of course keep in mind, these are not for home use, internet access is nearly useless, I believe it caps out around 2kbps for ours - phone usage can be spotty as signals readjust - if you are moving it can constantly lose signal unless you invest in a tracker system.

Edit: also I just looked at their plans (co. pays ours - we activate before a job) and the talk minutes/texts are pretty limited (100 mins/100 texts for $80/month) - no contracts though.
