I heard it was an issue with BlinkMeNot.

If you unload that, you should stop shifting into a giant chicken.

I changed into a chocobo trying to solo an Ark Angel fight. I cant equip anything. looks like i just wasted my merits.

Also it wasn't random for me. Was doing avatar fights for raise of shantotto. I turned into chocobo at the same step to the avatar.
