And whats the difrence? Granted you at least landed it in the Geomancer forum, but your thread title is almost vague to the point of confusion and ultimately may not get you what you're looking for as many people navigate new posts by what they see on the front page, which doesn't reflect where the post was made.
May I suggest altering it to something to the effect of "Handbell and geomancy skill questions"? Offline

There is only one way to answer your question. "Yes it's worth it"

Appropriately title your threads. That said, I see this ring nowhere in the Geomancer guide other than as optional for idle, and I would assume that means it is not necessary. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can only account for 840 skill:
389 Geo Skill + merits 389 handbell skill + merits With this set: ItemSet 337387 So 850 with ring, according to BGWiki your potency increases every 180 combined skill levels with the next tier is 900 if you can authentically reach it, so in essence it's not worth it I guess. Does a lot of geomancy + handbell stuff come from escha - Ru'Aun? There doesn't seem to much info on BGWiki for it but like I said, next potency tier in theory is 900 if it doesn't already cap out, so if you're already there it looks like you don't need the ring. I have to agree, with a thread title like that, I'm surprised Draylo hasn't responded. But you did get Fone, so there's that.

This song played in my mind also when I saw the title:
Is it worth it, let me work it I put my thing down, flip it and reverse it Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gniht ym tup I Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gniht ym tup I Different spells have different potency tiers - I believe some spells require as little as 10 skill to increase the buff/debuff. So technically yes that ring would matter. With that being said some of those other rings are amazingly awesome so unless your only job is mule geomancer you probably won't get the ring.
As for the other skill my math isn't quite matching yours, Tidis. You would have 810 skill from max skill and merits. The gear shown above gives you another 62 skill (don't forget the augment on the cape). When you add in dunna you get another 18 skill. You also get another 46 skill from having 910 job points. So without ring it's possible to be at 936 skill. Ah ok, job points, forgot about those, as for max skill + merits, shouldn't it be:
373 + 373 + 16 + 16? = 778 It might be, I took those numbers directly from your post, but I think I misunderstood what you were saying (it looked like you meant 389 skill + merits). In that case you can get to 904 skill without the ring.

There is also the club with another 5 Solstice I'm assuming you are talking about getting Renaye Ring for your SoA reward? No you shouldn't, weatherspoon is by far the better ring for Geomancer. Quick Magic benefits T5 nukes way too much to ignore. +10 Skill does very little in practice.

So uh, looks like effects from skill caps at 900.
Asura.Hoshiku said: » So uh, looks like effects from skill caps at 900. But yeah, I thought the same exact thing as you when I read that post. I capped gift with 904 combined skill at this moment. I think we better wait for the last gift bonus to see if there is any new tier breaker.
