Awesome thread guys! Lots of great input from everyone. Where are my Kikoku sets???? Jk, I'm actually reworking some Kikoku sets and will post them soon. However, all these Taeon sets are really starting to make my brain melt /sadface.

Looking for a good DT/Hybrid set, anyone have any good suggestions for it on Nin? Was trying to find a good balance, something that can be full timed on things like Delve NMs. So something around 119-125mobs/nms.

*Edit* Also assuming you have basic buffs. Something like double marches, Cor rolls or possible Geo bubbles. I don't want to be vague, just trying to find a balanced set for those type of things.

here is what I use for nin tanking,

tancho/tancho + wukong's hakama+1 for a total of 80% interrupt rate

now the DT part:

Neck + back + ring1 + ring2 for 27% DT on these slot without getting a big hit on dps.

if you need more DT/pdt/mdt then you'll have these option:

1.sacrifice interrupt rate and switch out the NQ tancho to that 3% dt katana for a total of 30% dt . also switch out wukong's leg for that wkr leg with dex and 2% pdt/mdt augment.

2. lower dps but maintain a good acc rate
wkr head(acc one) with 2% pdt/mdt augment
wkr hand with 2% pdt/mdt
unity emet+1 body for 5% pdt.

these are the gears you can get without breaking the bank on skirmish augments. If you still need more pdt/mdt then you'll have pay big gil for that 3/4 pdt/mdt with high acc augment.

Thankfully, stones for otronif (+1) are rather cheap now so it's fairly easy to get decent augments for PDT/MDT without breaking the bank!

Kaev, did you set ODD in the Setup Tab @ 30% 40% 50% for Kannagi AM1,2 & 3?

I'm getting a larger spread in DPS than you're numbers are showing.

Also, be careful, the spreadsheet will allow ODD to affect other weapons. Looks like you know that, but just a heads up.

I'm having difficulty finding the error, what numbers where you getting?

I was getting a larger spread between AM 1/2/3, but I wasn't running the exact taeon augs, or izuna offhand so that's probably all it was.

Just curious, what def down % are you using on tojil?

edit: btw, planning on adding geo to Mote's DPS sheet this week. I'll share when I get it sorted out.

I added GEO to Mote's NIN DPS sheet. I also bumped mainhand hitrate from 95% to 99%.

I'm using open office calc. The native file for calc is here. (will work on any OS running Open Office)

I exported to Excel 97 format (XLS) here. Let me know if there's any issues in excel, since I can't test for myself.

The Otronif, Taeon, and Taeon WSD use my augments. Taeon str/dex uses perfect augments for testing purposes. You'll likely want to adjust to what you actually have.

note: Geomancy strength is based on capped + merited skill with Dunna. I took the values from the geo guide here on ffxiah.

So are two Izuna's the best or is there something like the low delay Jugo Kukri offhand for THF, which allows better TP gain.

The oat katana from the bee wkr (taikogane) is the best offhand when you can cap accuracy with it. Otherwise use the katana from vagary(achiukikapu whatever)

I must be doing something wrong with spreadsheet then. I get Izuna (Acc & Atk +15; Crit Hit DMG +5%; Delay -10%) as the best option for off hand, DPS wise.

Are you counting WS damage or just white damage?

Edit and are you using the -10℅ delay on only the offhand?

This is why math beats spreadsheets. There's no way for me to look at what you're doing. You'll just have to wait until I get there and post mine. My days off are wed to Fri though, maybe I'll do more then. Ive actually only just started tp set math but I'm 99% sure what I said is right.

Just for reference though, I find your taeon izuna tp set strange too. Iga cape should beat yokaze when acc isn't needed, but hattori body and crit rate on 1 taeon piece looks wrong when you could be getting 4% triple attack.

Random other question; is your nagi set DPS # counting the lost ws's while building up to 300 tp every 3 min or whatever or just while am3 is up?

I can answer the AM3 question. In short, no. The spreadsheet is showing DPS for AM3 up, using Blade: Hi every 1000TP, most likely against Tojil. If you want to know what the DPS is for building AM3 with AM3 down, using Kamu, then you have to set your minimum WS TP to 3000, and WS to Kamu. The second time you build AM3, you'll likely have AM3 up.

All that tells you is the DPS while AM3 is up & down, but doesn't tell you the true DPS of actually using the weapon. How long does it take to earn AM3? etc.
I've outlined how to determine this on a BG post. http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/110460-DPS-Spreadsheets?p=6386008&viewfull=1#post6386008 Note that I goofed on my first post, the second one is better.

The math in the DPS sheets is buried in the Data tab. You should find cRatio, pDIF, fstr, etc. Weaponskills are handled on the weaponskill tab. Think of it like a simulation of 500 rounds + WS's, using all known math for ffxi over the past 11 years. The only real shortcomming is there's ocasionally some small mistakes, and there isn't a very wide variety of mobs to compare.

I did assume that the results would be based in not taking consideration the downtime for accumulating 3000tp for both nagi and kannagi set. But yeah, when i have the opportunity I'll play with the spreadsheet you provided and will include WS set to provide more data as to the results.

I find this pretty funny since nagi was only 2% ahead of izuna in the spreadsheet, which means nagi is actually worse.

I imagine Nagi performs better in comparison against Izuna/Kannagi when accuracy is an issue, where triple/crit. gear is sacrificed for acc gear.

Just realized, if you downloaded my DPS sheet that Izuna's DMG rating was wrong on both main + offhand versions. (way too high)

I know you weren't using mine when you posted DPS, but just a heads up.

Someone ask me to do some quick math comparing Ternion dagger+1 with Taikogane. After seeing how well Ternion+1 did in my quick not really complete math (blade hi parts especially) I'm not convinced anything is better to offhand than Achiuchikapueria whatever anymore....

More on this later when I get back from Avengers 2 if I remember/still care enough to do it.

I've heard of people tossing over 100mil on +2's and not getting over 15 DMG, so perhaps you got lucky. I don't know if delay -10% is equally as hard to get.

Some just get lucky. I would say between gil and stone drops, I probably spent about that (75-80ish) on an Izuna for rather lack luster augs.

I just stick with Kikoku, I love Metsu more then Hi anyways lol.
