Can Someone Explain How I Do This

I want to know how i can back up all the files from ffxi and playonline only i am going to test something but i need to back the game up before i do.

I just want to back it up so after i back it up i can drag and drop the files back to where they need to be.

Go to the store, buy a flash drive, go back home, copy all of your files in the "Playonline" folder into the flash drive, bingo, you backed up your files.

And yes, I know this is a Kawar thread....

not what i mean yes i know how to do it on a flash drive. but i have talked to people who just copyed a folder over to there hard drive then if something messed up just replaced the folder with the copy. I want to do that. but i have no idea what i can and cant do with the game files.

Oh I don't know.. How about just creating a new folder somewhere, call it XI backup files or something similar, and copy the game files into this new folder?

You can safely copy/paste ROM folders and the sound folder when you install the game somewhere else. Do not copy/paste any other folder or file if you aren't sure about their purpose. Most of the game's volume is the ROM folders anyway so I would say only backup those, not the whole playonline folder. When you make a new install and log in to playonline to update, it will check current files in the installation folder and skip them in the update process so it will take much less time to finish if you moved your ROM backup to the playonline folder.

I will wait till i get my 3-5T back up soon then i will do it with that.
