Mijin Gakure Dmg Blocking

what exactly are the properties needed to best block mijin gakure dmg? is this non-elemental dmg that straight magic defense is reducing.. i know the myth of it being fire dmg and barfira helps block its dmg has been debunked right?

does magic evasion + help lower this dmg?

MDB, MDT, Shell, Magic Barrier, Stoneskin. I mean its just a magical attack.

It's not solely magic damage. You can use it against Jailer of Prudence, a mob that is immune to all magic damaged and it will deal damage.

It's speculated that it is actually a Breathe Damage Attack.

Umm, no. Aegis works on mijin. It is definitively a magic attack.

I dunno if there's some difference between the player and monster versions of mijin, but since the thread is about reducing Mijin dmg... we'll go with the mob used mechanics.(now if you want an example of a suicide attack that's HP based attack and deals breath damage, try Self-Destruct. Self-Destruct will kill an Aegis PLD just the same as anyone else. -_-;)

So MDT works, without a doubt.

Magic evasion... can help. But it's just like stacking normal eva+. You have to actually have enough to give yourself a good chance to resist. So if the mob has really really high macc, then Meva may not be best the way to go.

Fealty almost completely blocks dmg from mijin gakure(wiki says 93%)
