capacity points parties are not fun
Currently the best CP's I'm aware of is farming Woh gates or Doh gates, this is not fun; I would love to continue playing this game, but if SE really thinks I'm gonna kill the same bat for 6 hrs straight... I mean really, need to 119 Campaign battle or add CP's to to VW, or something. I refuse to kill a bat all day long. I'm very ready to quit. SE make lvl'ing more rewarding and less boring. how can you not see this is a huge flaw in your game?

can confirm, minefield #1 shitter. gave him a piece of cake and instead he took the rest of what i cut it from. what the *** man that thing was like $6 at Costco.

My opinion is that you can get more opinions in ffxi forums instead ffxiv's.
About cp, it isnt terribly bad. I did 8 jps in 1h30m yesterday, though with double cp and gain exp, but still, you dont need to do that for 6 straight hours. You can do every time you need merits, exp for 1h, get your merits plus 5 jp, and after a month you cap your job gifts. Jp are around there for almost 1 year already, and its not like it was addded so many new stuffs so it suggest a slow paced grinding. why u heff 2 b so mad, iz jest gaem
![]() Campaign at 119 would be awesome, if it could = the boring *** bat parties. I just can't do bat after bat. Even Abyssea is more fun, but again; no CP.

I'm kinda having fun with them, I missed old style PTs since Abyssea got released.
I have to admit though that they have to do something about the basic rate. What is currently the 2x CP rate should be at least the DEFAULT rate, furtherly increased by the HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE CP capes, Gifts and a real 2x CP rate (4x compared to now). And they should allow you to trade X merits for a JP. Like I dunno, 30 merits = 1 JP or something? Whatever. We also kinda need more viable camps. I know the map#2 zones added many, but nothing comes close to the awesomeness of the Bats camp. Game could use a couple more camps like that honestly. Old school merit party :D
I can't help but feel that people who *** and moan so much about Capacity Points are the same people who, even in this day and age, persist with Abyssea parties.
God forbid we need to create parties with a semblence of job balance to them rather than be spoon-fed ISL chests and a constant stream of temporary items. God forbid us expecting people who have a job at Lv99 to actually know how to *** gear and play it. There are so many Capacity Points camps beyond Dho Gates if the repetition is driving people insane and given the double rate campaign at the moment if you cannot find people for a party via yelling then you're doing something wrong. tl;dr OP needs to suck less and get the *** out of Abyssea. See, the thing about CP parties vs. old school merit parties is that, with merit parties, you can be at any job and "level up" different jobs.
Meaning that I could be on WHM or RDM and skill up my WAR during old school merit parties. Can't do that if I'm trying to get JP for my WAR, but we need a WHM instead. If SE removes that, then you will see a whole lot more CP parties done. They wouldn't need to create campaigns to get people to do the content. The thing is though that CP parties are so free form. You don't need a WHM, or a lot of other things, to do a CP party. You bring 6 whatever you want and your party will be fine.
Yes, a healer is nice, yes, a buffer is nice, but neither are required, and there are many jobs that can help fulfill those roles. You don't need a WHM if people sub dancer, or if there's a mage AT ALL in the party casting cures, or a summoner with Heavenward Howl, or a Puppetmaster with a healing puppet... etc. I've done CP parties with just about every party setup. I've had multiple DRKs and RUNs, PUPs, THFs, BLUs, WARs, SCHs, whatever. There are so many jobs that can help buff and heal the party, and even then, you really don't need much of it. You could say I was getting low job points because of it, but no, I wasn't. 90% of the time we were killing faster than the mobs could spawn and getting 300k-380k CP per hour. If you want to get job points on a WAR, go play a WAR. If you like WAR that much that you want job points on it, why don't you want to play it? If a party seriously denies you from a CP party because of your job, you probably don't want to party with them anyways; CP mobs are extremely easy and there should be no job discrimination here. If it really is such an issue, just make your own party and no one will question it. Well it kinda depends on where you decide to party though Crevox.
Before they added map#2 zones you needed quite a strict and demanding pt setup if you wanted to CP in Woh Gates (map1) to name an example. Woh Gates map2 Bats camp is awesome exactely for that reason. There are no debuffs, there are no dangerous TP moves, anybody can heal. I managed to mainheal on SMN/RDM, on BRD/WHM, on GEO/RDM and many other jobs. On WHM it was utterly boring and on SCH it was Regen5-ga then afk for 5 mins. PT setup there can be extremely varying, keeping in mind that without a buffer you won't be able to reach top speed, but it would still be decent. For other camps you kinda need a real healer though. Take Sih Gates. The Bats+Diremites camp is awesome, but there are annoying TP moves to debuff there, and Diremites use a Slow that overwrites your Haste, making it an annoying race of erasing and recasting etc. All other camps in map2 are like that. Either there are mobs with annoying/dangerous TP moves, or annoying stuff to -na etc. Not saying they're not viable, they are, but you gotta be a bit more strict with the setups there (altough you still have a high degree of freedom). My main point, as I've said elsewhere already, is that the bats camp is so good, so good, soooooo good that it kinda spoils people, and the other viable camps, as good as they are, will never look as good as the bats one. That's why I said game could use a couple more nice camps like that one. And the "more annoyng" camps should reward players with a slightly higher cp x kill, I think. That would be a good way to balance things up I guess. Anyway, the way things are going (with JPs being more and more useful/necessary, more JP categories being added etc) they really need to do something serious about the cp/hr gain thing. Emphasis on "serious", and no, the annoying CP cape or the trolling of CP+ through gift is not a "serious" way to address the issue :P |
