I have never been one for making resolutions and sticking to them. The last time I did was when I made a resolution to play every numbered Final Fantasy game within a 1 year period. I ended up playing 1, 2, 7, and part of 10. FAILED

This year though I have a few resolutions to make though, ones that should be reasonable, and would like to hear what others are trying to do to better themselves this upcoming year.

My resolutions:

Do not make any micro-transactions. iPhone games (Fantasica primarily) really put a dent in my bank account this year. Disabling in-app purchases is step 1 in this resolution.

Stop sitting on my feet. I have a bad, and lately painful habit of sitting on my feet while at my computer at home or at work. Knees are going, and hip is popping, time to cut that ***out.

Make coffee at home and take it to work... eventually switch to tea. Step one is to get away from the energy drinks and white chocolate peppermint iced coffee with the double-shot of espresso in the morning. After the detox I plan to switch out to tea at some point.

Interesting resolutions! With regards to sitting habits, I sit next to my bed when on my PC, my bed is elevated and for some reason I like to stretch my legs up onto my bed so they end up at a sort of upward 45 degree angle, probably not the best for posture!

Perhaps I should play FFXI less but that's not going to happen, I also want to be proactive about my employment situation, I don't think I'm paid enough for my role so I either need to look for a pay rise or a new job.

In last year thread my resolutions were to resume rl which I left in pause for some time, and make new friends.
The first I've done. The second, well, I did meet new people and while I don't know if they're my friends or not since we haven't really hung out outside of school, I'm somewhat satisfied anyway.

On the wave of positivity then let's see about the upcoming year:

- Finish my mythic, then quit FFXI(will come back in case of new expansion though).
- Pass all exams(except math which I'm just going to pretend it doesn't exist).
- Get into a functional, healthy relationship(unlike any other I've had before).

Back on the weight loss plan. The last few months have set me back, but it's time to lose all the weight, this time. I'm down sixty pounds; time to make it 120.

Hating weight loss plans.

Mostly because they universally mean cutting down and preferably eliminating my favorite calorie-high, nutrient-low thing in the world: alcohol.

But even beyond that they all mean eating boring, bland, long-to-prepare-for-less-reward food.

Wish I was one of those people who just didn't give a damn about food. Those people make me jealous as ***.

What we need to do is invest in genetic engineering that allows us to eat whatever the *** we want, provided we get the needed nutrients, and not get fat. There are a hundred other things I'd want to fix too but that's pretty high on my list.

Given that there are additional adversities to food/drink consumption beyond simple weight gain, I'd actually prefer for some sort of nutrient-dense food or drink that has a mildly pleasant taste that you can consume once a day that subsequently supresses both physical and psychological food cravings.

Don't have any resolutions this year.

Resolutions mean that there's something wrong with you, and you are going to do something about it.

There's nothing wrong with my life today, so why change what isn't broken?

That ever so elusive 7% body fat(third year now of this being my resolution and I get closer every time). Closest I've gotten to it is
Which is 7.5-8%ish. That was October, should have pushed just for a bit longer; came home from that anime convention though and buffets galore and diet was officially over

I have resolved myself to the fact thag resolutions rarely play out the way a person intends, and I am resolute in this belief.

I'm not glorifying my life.

I'm just saying that there's nothing wrong with it.

Oh to be 15 again and have a mentality like this; good times.
Psh.

I have a great job, no real bills, my health is better today than it was a couple of months ago, I'm alive and kicking, and things are looking up for me.

Why change any of that?

NYR does not necessarily mean there is anything wrong with you or your life.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year%27s_resolution

It can simply mean you want to improve something or do something nice.

Upgrade your locks to a key pad system.

I put one in and have never locked myself out since.

Unless you meant no debt?
Zero debt. I don't like it.

I do have a need for it every now and then, but I only use it as a last resort.

If it's a goal, then that's different.

I guess going back to Japan this year during the summer or fall, either to Osaka or Hokkaido, depending on when I actually go.

Debt isn't THAT bad, it's only people's misunderstanding of it gives it a bad name.

That and their horrible abuse of it too.
