Equipsets

Anyone know where the equipsets file is located? play online ffxi users?

The equipsets are stored in your ffxi/user/userid folder.

ex: c:/Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\USER\123abc\ (The folder hex # is specific to each character, there will be one folder per character you have used on your PC)

They follow a similar naming convention to the macro files:

es0.dat
es1.dat
es2.dat
...
esX.dat - etc.

es0.dat is your first set (1-20 I think)
es1.dat is the second (21-40), and so on

you should be able to copy them from one PC to another (if you are using the same account on multiple PCs), but they aren't backed up to the server when you backup macros & markers.

Is the official method of making gear sets distill down to one line for normal macro users? I am having trouble finding information about "equipsets"

You create a set in macro > edit equip. Set then you can call that set by /equipset #.
