Final Fantasy XIII Is Coming To PC
BUGS inc!
Port: nope nope nope
Honestly I think it's great SE is finally releasing their games to PC. You had 7 & 8 back in the day, and then for over 10 years nothing. Now you got III, IV (graphics are very child like but still), re-releases of 7 & 8 working on PC again, and now 13. Now I can finally try the game everyone hates, lol.
Would be nice if they did 12 first, or eventually get to 9 and 10, but one step at a time I suppose. Steam's pre-sale is a dollar off lol
And like what Chaosx said, it's a good thing that FFXIII, though a few years late, came to PC, I bought my original copy on midnight release along with the LE XBox 360 and I still bought the presale's copy! Now I wish they would do the same for XV :3 Square had games on computers before ...
Click at your own discretion. Japanese interactive novel style game with questionable imagery, not pornographic but certainly NSFW. Just mentioning that Square-Enix is returning for it's roots with their current line of design and scripting (lol) Enix on the other side was the developer of one of the very first anime style porn games ever made. Again it was a interactive novel with "lolis" (lol). I bet they want to bury that past away from sight ... lol I look forward to see how these new FF games for PC run on my ..mputer... lol Asura.Nanabi said: » Steam's pre-sale is a dollar off lol And like what Chaosx said, it's a good thing that FFXIII, though a few years late, came to PC, I bought my original copy on midnight release along with the LE XBox 360 and I still bought the presale's copy! Now if only they can do Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross along with FFV, VI, IX, X and XII, then I'll be pretty damn content. Chrono Cross for the PC, Yes Please!
While we're at it, let's throw in some Kingdom Hearts, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, and Front Mission titles.
Meh, one step at a time. Don't want to overwhelm the people at SE.

Chrono Cross for the PSP was the same so hopefully that wouldn't change much. The thought of them trying to bring some child like version of 6 to the PC worries me. Don't ruin that game. 4 is stomachable in small doses, but for the love of humanity, don't do the same for 6! Leviathan.Chaosx said: » I'd rather they do ports of 9, 10 and 12 first. At first it was alienating, but somehow I thoroughly enjoy the DS version of FF4 they ported to Steam. The cutscenes put some nice perspective and add some more depth to what were otherwise bland encounters and left to imagination and interpretation. The voice acting is decent, and the additional viewing scope of the environments is much welcomed to it's 2D alternative. I can only hope they would put some effort into making 6 a respectable game with the graphics. The people who originally played this are all in their late 20s and early 30s now. Go for that audience. Use the newer character models from ps2/ps3/ps4 and not the Nintendo model. Only $14.39 on steam right now for 13 tho, not too bad. (pre-order)
Someday, I'd like to see 2D make a comeback with sprites and an emphasis on animation and attention to detail.

So? 13 sucked the first time around. I'm not subjecting myself to that horror again just for the sake of being able to mod it.
I Challenge you, to mod into a good game!

They have done a 5 and 6 port for iOS and Android. The sprites are a little more cartoony, but honestly it didn't take away from the games for me. I doubt they will fully remake either of those like they did with 3 and 4, though I could be wrong with the New 3DS coming out.
What would be amazing is if they would release other DS games they have made onto steam, namely Bravely Default. I know Sakaguchi really hated the idea of porting games, but I don't see why. The ports that have been done to iOS/Android have been done very well and the remakes for DS really did add to two already great games. I know it is a cash grab for the most part, but honestly as long they don't try to outrageously price the games ($10~$15 is still a little high, but steam does a lot of sales so meh) I really don't mind spending a little bit extra for nostalgia factor. The ports so far have had little issue and glitches and run better than emulators have ever done for me. Sakaguchi said: I think the statue of limitations has passed and expired so I think I'm okay saying this — but we just didn't see eye-to-eye with management, and so I went and fought for it, and I officially lost the battle...Nothing's confirmed. But again, it would be nice to be able to work on a continuation of my old creations. |
