Things I like:
*keeping this as a place holder for when my rage wears off and I can think objectively and find some good in the game in its current form.
Things I dislike/hate/detest:
1. Transportation - Made it way too easy to get everywhere.
2. Lack of upkeep of zones - most of vanadiel is a ghost town. There's no reason to venture back to any of the older zones save some very specific and uncommon reasons. Expansions are good, but they shouldn't render everything that came before them entirely obsolete. It would have been nice if they kept the original nations and zones relevant.
3. Reset button - The game went from being a long term indulgence and hobby to something you play when you need your quick zerg fix. There are no long term goals save perhaps mythics? and even those can now be achieved within 3-6 months. Once you get them and the novelty wears off, then what? Quit most likely, like so many have done.
4.Lack of balance - I know it is hard to balance 20+ jobs, but it appears they don't even realize they have a problem. Most of the available jobs sit on the sidelines while a select 4-5 jobs are the only ones deemed as acceptable for most relevant and fresh content. If they did realize they had a problem, they wouldn't have made SAM the ridiculously overpowered monkey that it currently is. I would wager that SAM is the greatest determent to job balance. Why even bring any other DD/Dps class?
PUP/WAR/DRK/RDM/SMN/DNC/BLU/BLM/THF - All pretty much useless in group play save less than a handful of events/instances.
Also it would be nice if some of the crafts got some love.
5. Zerging - Its ok for old content to be zergable, but when it becomes the standard... what is the point of battles at all? We've been doing the same fight for the past 4 years. Regardless of the enemy, you're going to get buffed by a cor or brd or both and mash your ws macros until its dead. Voidwatch was the same shit, you just had to spend a few seconds finding the weaknesses, to continue your zerg..
There used to be strategy involved in fights. Group play and communication other than "parse shows x person did most amount of dmg".
