Foret Hennetiel Boat Spins Out

sorry first time in this zone and i entered from the J-5 Sih Gates exit. There is a castoff point at i-7 that looks like 2 on the map provided by wiki. However, I only see one castoff point here. I've tried 5 or 6 times to cross to get to the Doh gates but every attempt to cross causes my boat to spin out of control and i end up on the North or South beach at J-9.

I've tried looking it up. Any help/advice as to what I may be doing wrong?

You probably didn't finish the watercrafting quest that requires you to go to a specific castoff point and get a cutscene where you properly learn to use the boat, THEN return to the NPC.

Edit: Also, it "looks like two" but is one applies to all cast off points, after you properly finish the watercraft quest you will be able to chose from two directions at each cast off point Up(West) or Down(East).

Apparently i did everything, i just didnt talk to the NPC again xD

good times, i remember wiping out on the open water , was funny to watch.
