It's not the oldest one I own, but it's one of the oldest and one of the few I have never been able to toss simply because of how rare it was at the time (and probably still is)

Probably the oldest piece of gear I have, that I continue to use to this day, is Evoker's Ring.

I use to pack rat every major set from 1-75 so I could level jobs. But once Abby destroyed normal pt's I've sold/dropped a lot of it for space. But I do still have a Bronze set +1 and wax sword +1.

I quit over a year ago, but my character still had my Bastokan Ring, my first Bronze Sword, my first lv 18 Longsword, and my first lv 10 Scale armor sans the headgear.

As far as gear I still "use", I got my Kirin's Osode back many moons ago when it was still a big achievement and it's more or less always on me when I'm on a job that can equip it. I frequently use it + Seiryu's Kote as blinmenot gear.

I think Emperor band is the oldest piece of gear I have on my main account, but I still have my hagun on a mule that regardless of whatever happens in Vana'diel I will never get rid of... I had to do the ENM 12 times for that Hagun (3m was a lot of gil back then), and it was worth it!
I have my Joyeuse in storage on mule too... another old love lol
EDIT: another weapon I've saved that will never get tossed is koggelmander... I was a very happy camper when that dropped :D

I would say the gear set given to me by my mentor, Seiya, before he left in 2005. Scorpion Harness +1 (he told me it cost him 20M), Green Beret +1 and Merman's Hands Legs Feet. No idea when he got them, but he started during the JP beta.
He would wear that set all the time on THF, so when he left I promised I would level THF one day just to wear it. One year later I did that, and although I don't use the gear anymore, they will remain with me.
Aside from that, the only thing I can think of is this.

rain hat. made sure to get one on my mule as well cos it's so awesome.
Republic Knuckles/Republic Subligar/Federation Kyahan/Jujitsu Gi. I actually just leveled a mule with all of those pieces a few weeks ago too. sadly, I sold my O.Kote late in life, so they were not worth much.
I still have my Bounding Boots. First NM I ever camped. Pretty sure I still have my Bastokan ring, too.
