Fair enough.

Though I find it strange you sing the praises of Russia when in twenty years they've reached a point of Capitalist corruption that took the United States 200 years to reach.
It's because they did it better, and faster.

Reading comprehension, do you need it?

Thanks for putting words in my mouth to vindicate a personal attack though. It just demostrates the personal bias everyone has on this current topic. Only the people actually working care about the system. Everyone else just likes to attack those they disagree with by disguising it with faulty implied logic.

I'm sorry that sarcasm is lost to the both of you. I figured that it was so blatantly obvious that even you two wouldn't need sarcasm tags to see that.

I figured that the "weed" portion of it would have shown you the sarcasm, but you two have your heads so firmly planted in each other's *** that neither could see what is obviously is in front of you.

That's what it has basically come down to, people here putting words in your mouth and try to create an argument you never said.

It's generally the liberals of this website that does it the most too, and then they think they are smart for doing that.....

The argument made was that the US needs a system that's a blend of capitalism and socialism yet when Russia and China have already been running such a system, china still going a little slower, all you can do is criticize them and complain about thier success.

Russia was capitalistic a long time ago before economic conditions scared thier people into socialism. They've learned from thier history unlike the U.S.

I don't expect many people here to know the history of the Far East though except omg communism and Stalin.

Stalin wasn't even communist or Russian. Even wiki will tell you that.

Who do you think is importing food? Do you think the government is doing it? News flash, companies do it because it's PROFITABLE. So you're advocating stripping choice for producers and consumers in order to create a larger domestic demand for foodstuffs. Though, there's plenty of markets where the US cannot produce them at a competitive price, so you'd be using protectionist tariffs in order to offset the price difference, effectively imposing unfair restrictions on companies that depend on importing foodstuffs.

I'm in favor of protectionist policies, but it sure isn't a very business friendly way to address the issue. Wouldn't the "conservative" line be to cut the farmers off the *** and let them figure out a way to make a profit, since that's the only way to get welfare people off their ***, right?

Have you ever entertained the notion that maybe you're just really bad at sarcasm? Not that I believe you that it was since it's clear that the obvious contradiction in Altima's arguments still seem to be quite elusive to a few here.

Well, I would agrue with you if you failed to present any evidence and reasons. Your typical debate format is:

KN: <Say Something stupid.>
NE1: <Points out that you said something stupid.>
KN: <kwit puttni' werds in mouth pls stupid libtard.>
<END OF LINE>

Start explaining yourself more diligently, if you feel people missed your point, explain your point. Don't just handwave it and expect everyone to just assume you've delivered a sufficient rebuttal.

If you don't feel it's worth the effort, get the *** over yourself then.

Taxation is a restriction, bubba. That's what the 1% have been arguing for decades.

Edit: would that also apply to companies that have moved their operations off-shore to evade income taxes? Because, I would be greatly in favor of that.

The true Conservative line would be to do both. What you said in your first paragraph is exactly what I have been saying, only we wouldn't be "stripping choice for producers and consumers" we would be making a larger market the USA could fill.

By imposing restrictions on importing goods...

Not restrictions, tax them and tax them hard. No reason overseas products should be cheaper than American made products.

Taxation is a restriction, bubba. That's what the 1% have been arguing for decades.

And I'm such a huge fan of the 1% club. SARCASM

Perhaps if you would stop lumping me into the 1% fan club, I'll stop calling you a dirty liberal.

No dice, as long as you fanboy the teaparty, you're a 1% fanclub subscriber.

Mmmm...You've never had to import anything from overseas, have you? So, because you have no connection to anything outside of the US, everyone else should suffer? Because it's not like there are any first or second generation Americans, right? What are those mythical unicorns?

I have two large pieces of furniture in my house that are older than the United States (fun little tid-bit), and at the time, I had to have my parents help pay for freight and tariff fees for both sides of the pond, which came out to be $3,600. Not going to touch on estate tax for cross-borders inheritances, or as it was before 2009.
