Mos, I'm not sure how freeze tolerant they would be in your zone but citronella plants do well out here. It's perennial here. It might only be an annual for you unless you pot them and bring them in.
 We have a bed flanking one side of the patio, two potted on the front porch and one potted outside the garage door. They smell like lemons. EDIT: I heard that mosquitos don't like mint and lantanas either.

They work very well in Europe, but would not work well in the US.
