Watch out for this guy, he's a lowdown scummy douche. We did a Kirin run a few nights ago and our LS leader got a K Osode and let him try it out. As soon as he traded, Farf pulled the good ol' fake d/c trick. He's completely avoided any and everyone so its gone

Anyway, just watch out for this shady guy he's no good.

Yeah pretty sure what Vep says is the best way to go. As long as you do it soon so that the chat logs they have to check are only recent. You also have to make sure that the guy clearly stated he was letting him "try it out" because normally in this situation one says he was lending it to him and the other says it was a gift and the GM's won't do anything about it.

I seriously doubt a GM will do anything.

The logs will show a trade, and GMs cba with reading LS and party chat to find out that he agreed to give it back or it was just to try it out.

If a guy came up to you and asked to see a $100 bill because he wanted to know what one looked like, would you hand it to him? (Assume that you have one.)

Long story short, don't give out good stuff to people you can't 100% trust.

You're an absolute moron if you give someone you don't 100% trust something of yours to "borrow" and you deserve losing it if something happens to it, this goes for game and IRL, end of discussion.

Seems to me that for all we know he could have been completely trusted before the incident, when stuff like this happens it usually comes out of the blue. To Chrono; definatly call a GM, if an agreement ingame was made that it was only temporary then they will take action and return the item for you. You do however have to report it within 7 days of the theft.

Farflong was in Driven. Their leader was banned for botting after preaching how "legit" they were and how botting was the worst thing you could do in XI. I'll pass the word around, Chrono. Let me know if the situation ever gets corrected.

Man, pretty expensive Osode, just cost the value of his reputation on that server, unless he was already set up for a server swap or something.

I personally dont really feel bad for naive person who lent it to him. in this day and age in game, after scam after scam has been proven succesful against a select few with the certain common foolishness.. did they ever buy shiheh in a bazaar for 9k each when they thought it was a stack? or quickly swap out an emperor hairpin with an insect wing because they shared the same graphic icon?

Though it kinda sorta happened to an LS mate of mine but in more of an accidentally legit way.

I dont know about you other servers, but on Titan many different types of casinos run by players been popping up in whitegate lately. Tho ive tried a few runs and pretty much broke even before stopping, a buddy traded 100k for a bet and shortly after this "casino" redballed shortly after. not to be seen online since. now he could have quite easily just as well lost the random and been done with it but it wasnt the case, he won.

I highly doubt GMs can do ***about it though, over my few dealings with them theyve been about as useful as a fish needs a bicycle ingame. unless it was an actual game error, like a misdrop item off a bcnm that was due to game error, there isnt much hope. Ive reported my fair share of RMT tele-bots over the years and even that leaves me thinking im talking to a chimp bashing a computer keyboard with a baseball bat. Its almost got me thinking GMs themselves are bots programmed to respond a certain way depending on the action.
