Q Thousand And One - An Irish Taru Odyssey

Hello my friends! Stay a while and listen!

To go into the long history of XI and XIAH for me,let us travel back in time,to a long time ago in a galaxy...er...the same town as I live in now.

Ireland - 2008

Almost 5 years ago now,in july 2008,I had a horrific motorcycle accident that had me laid up in bed for 6 months,and had me on crutches for almost another year after that. Being stuck in bed,and the xbox party chat system not being around yet,I went back to my previous MMO (Phantasy Star Universe) to be able to talk with all my friends. A few months later the party chat system was released so I stopped playing since the only reason to play was to talk to them. Some of them got bored with PSU and moved to XI. Now I had some copies of XI laying around (bought pc release back when it first came out,played on Hades for 2 weeks) and then tried the xbox version again back in 2006,played for an hour lol) I had friends to play it with all starting from scratch this time so I managed to get into it.

And the rest,is history!

I started on Fairy server this time round,eventually got merged to Sylph. Moved to Siren and eventually Ragnarok. I've quit multiple times but this time,is the real deal. My earliest memory of XIAH was when a friend linked me to it to show me we didnt have to search the AH horribly to find anything. Funny enough,I remember the news post the first time I came here. Some LS were the first EVER to take down PW (the real one,not that stupid dragon). After that I barely used the site,maybe once or twice a month. Later on down the line,I cant even remember why I signed up to start posting,but I did. And it's been wonderful ever since!

All the people are what make this site. I almost feel like XIAH would be the exact same if XI just vanished. RT is pretty much the best place on the internet. Not to belittle or threads! I've got good advice for in game and RL stuff from threads here. Can almost always get that much needed laugh easily too. I love how everyone also has their own perceived persona,it's brilliant and something I've yet to see anywhere else on the internet,ever. The XIAH community transcends just XIAH too,with people playing other games together,meeting each other RL,facebook and all that,texting,and even for some,[bowa-chicka-wow-wow] or more! The game and game community websites are just great for that kinda stuff,because most of the time you run into people that have like minded interests and you just generally hit it off with them much better. It's especially good for people like me who are cripplingly shy in real life. But forget that part! q_q

Now I debated on making puns and pop culture references left right and center,but aint nobody got time for that!

Right,let's get down to business then! I wanna start off with the obligitory thanking of Scragg and Jaerik,because without them,we all wouldnt have a combined place to shoot the ***like we do. Now,it's gonna be a long list (on the spot too!) with all sorts of pseudo-feels so if I leave you out,I'm sorry and it's not like that! D:

Awww Quiz! You mentioned me! (: I'll be missing you lots you know it! I remember we met on VW runs and you were the only one to encourage me and to go out of your way to help. Ever since then I've considered you a friend and I hope that you enjoy what's coming now for you...!
