Blade: Shun Vs Others

So I did the math I've dropped 138 merits into Blade: Shun and it still is meh....

My gear is not great at all, is the fact it is heavy dex dependent make it worse than other ws's until I get better gear?

Been nubbing up this forum lately, figured I'd keep at it. Any thoughts of it compared to other ws's in very entry level abyssesa gear is appreciated!

Elemental gorgets/belts bump it up a ton (.2ftp across all hits). NIN's primary damage is from melee, not WSs. In abyssea, atmas+gear, Jin is probably better. Check the NIN guide for the sheets and make sure. Shun has a -8% attack penalty, so +attack gear helps, too, again, check the sheets for the +DEX or +ATTACK items.

Part VII of the NIN guide (red text). Motenten, from Fenrir, does massive amounts of amazing work to make spreadsheets for projected DPS taking in all variables.

trying to figure out which gorget to use for blade:shun. the nin guide says thunder, but i also play sam, would light gorget work instead? or do i actually have to make a light SC for it to kick in?

Thunder/light/fire gorgets should all work for shun. You don't need to skillchain for them to activate.
