I understand how you acquire Blue Magic just wondering apart from level sync (the only way I can think of) how can I gain spells off those Too Weak mobs?
Seeing as they miss/hit for 0 and as far as I know that doesn't give TP.

I had great success with the Trainee Sword. Plenty of accuracy so you'll hit things, but still really low damage.

at lvl 13 BLU (from ur profile) u shouldnt have too many mobs that are too weak.and as Jassik stated u dont have to gain xp to learn the spell, they just have to use it.if ur blu skill lvl isnt capped tho it may take a few tries to actually learn the spell. Good luck, it seems ur doing it right and learning as u lvl up, as opposed to burning to 99 and having 0 skill and 0 spells, which seems to be the norm for the majority.

Can learn a spell off any mob that can use it, be it too weak or inc. tough. With Abyssea and a huge selection of mobs, atma and cruor buffs and all the other shizzle we have now its probably a lot easier to get the spells then it was back in the day (Remembers Hysteric Barrage fondly) ; ;

I was just curious to when I eventually get 99, if there's any lower leveled ones I'm missing the majority of the mobs would be Too Weak I figured, and even though I know you can learn the spells from Too Weak mobs. I was curious to how to get them to actually build TP since they can't hit me.

But yeah I'm attempting to do it slowly as I go up instead of Aby Burning it!

I can spam Dia over and over for TP? Or it gives a total of 8% after effect wears off?

Magic feeds tp, although mobs have a tendency to use a move at high tp only making it annoying on TW.

As long as it does damage on the initial cast, it'll give it TP even if the Dia effect is already on. The spell's initial damage has to be 1 point of damage or more to give it TP.

It gives them tp every time it does damage, i.e. 1 dmg, if it's doing 0 dmg they won't get tp. This trick is really usefull even for non-too weak mobs, if they die quick and there are just a few spawns is great to feed them TP w/o killing them if they refuse to do the move.

Another usefull trick for when you try to learn self buffs, if you are out of range when they get to do a tp move they will atempt the self buff, regurgitation bind to lower them to -25% is useful to force them to do so. (if you didn't know, at less than 25% they will use a TP move as soon as they reach 100% tp)

This.

Remove all your gear also. But like someone else said, you should have no problem finding mobs at your level and even if you burn the job all the way to 99, you don't need to go back to west ronfaure and kill a mob to get a spell... try to keep your blu magic capped.

Dia will give them 10 tp and the best way is to bring the mob down to 24% hp and spam dia yeah. forcing them to always tp at 100% spam dia II if dia does no dmg and it will probably do 4-5 dmg. For really low spells you can just gather 5 mobs then spam diaga once you get them all to 24% hp

This works great for low level mobs that are out in the open on a 5 min respawn, but I wouldn't hold all mobs in a dungeon on a 16 min repop. The issue I had was figuring out which mob used which TP move, and killing only that mob, since they'll likely all be TPing around the same time with Diaga. You end up killing the wrong one and having to wait for 16 mins for it to repop if you don't learn it.

Just as some clarification does Dia give 8TP every tic or the total duration the song is on it gives a end total of 8TP derped out here.

I been using dia and foot kick to get mobs below 25% and let it TP on me, if it doesn't use right move I just let it smack away at me while watching tv lmao

It gives the TP every time you cast it, when the initial damage is dealt, unless it deals 0. The DoT does not grant TP.

While I'm sure Dia is still the best way to learn spells, you get quite a bit less TP out of it these days. Subtle blow from dAGL is incredibly potent

Dual Wield Trainee Sword with Trainee Hammer, put tons of haste gear on to maxmize TP feed, make a script or autoexec that automatically puts on maximum BLU skill and AF1 hands as the mob is readying the ability(and locks it on just in case it needs to be on when the mob dies too) then kill the mob. Not sure if +skill helps but with +skill and AF hands on fulltime from the time the mob readies the spell i need until it dies I've never went less than 1/3 on any spell except for one or two spells; learned all spells within 4 days of capping skill and questing af1 hands, never had any particular bad luck with learning spells really. Only infrasonics I went 1/7, everything else 1/1-1/3.

I've found it much easier and less frustrating to go spell hunt on higher level stuff *if* its an available option to you, moreso on abyssea stuff w regen+refresh atma.

I've done the dia spam thing and it just doesnt do it for me, at least in abyssea im building lights, getting merit xp, skilling blu skill and club skill while trying to learn a spell and getting some random gold box loot in the process.
Aby mobs have enough hp you can equip a lowlevel sword and bludgeon spam for tp so you dont have to whiff barefisted or have physical spells miss.

I only go and learn spells outside of abyssea or on weak mobs if its the only source of learning the spell.

Sub WHM for auto-regen and dia and fight with either no weapon or using a 1 dmg club like the dream bell.

Remove any gear that boosts attack and evasion (STR/AGI) but keep anything that adds defence (VIT) and CHR.

If you're not in any danger you might want to grab a few additional mobs and switch between them when they get low health.
Sometimes they're too gimp to land hits so you might have to disengage and rest.

I you're really high level then stick to dia and keep the Empy HQ legs on for added Blue Magic Skill :)

you usually don't have to fight somethign too weak, or quite that fragile. The suggestions given are good ones. I have one more which is effective.

go /bst and charm a local mob of close to the same level. it won't kill your prey quite so quickly and shoudl feed it plenty of tp.
