Cant Install Ffxi To 360 HDD

Im having trouble installing ffxi onto 360 hdd. i can install pol without a problem but when i get to the part with the crystal spinning it gets to 19mins left then i get an error saying installation error cancelling installation. so far ive tried 2 disc(same ones; ToAU, Zilart, and CoP. Can anyone help me come to a solution to this problem its pissing me off.

Are you sure you have enough space? I know it seems like a dumb question, but it's often overlooked.

The last time I saw a thread like this the op had to uninstall Pol and any trace of FFxi and clean his disks.

Emphasis on the cleaning

13.9g is the space on my hdd
...How do you suggest i clean the disc? Cause i really want to play my game XD

had this same problem. i don't technically have a faulty disc for vanadiel collection 08 but it always stopped at 34min. i had my friend send me her WotG disc and i was able to install it just fine with that one. while im unsure why it happened to me (10+ times) i was able to fix it with a new disc. i don't know if your 13.9g has anything to do with the initial install, but 13.9g is cutting it pretty close if not less than what you need when you update every file, game and expansions included

edit: my disc just didn't work for the install but it works to boot up the game and runs just fine

I think it needs 20-22gigs for the partition doesn't it? It used to be 13 but they increased it a ways back to allow for more expansions and whatnot.

Yeah the partition size was increased about 6 to 8 months ago.

You can't use the CECHBxx PS3 (20GB model) neither the original 20GB XBOX360 HDD anymore for FFXI. Both consoles now require bigger harddrives. The smallest HDD one can use for FFXI on XBOX360 is the 60GB type. For the PS3 it's not a issue as it accepts any generic SATA laptop hdd.

There's an external HD you can plug into the side of the original 360, it's 120GB I bought mine for $80 a few years ago. I didn't play ffxi on that console though, and I've heard there are prblems with the game freezing on that system.

I've got one of the newer systems and haven't had any problems....yet.
