Hit 60 last night :)
Currently in Nashmau fishing up Mercanbaligi and Ahtapot
Ahtapot slowly gets annoying since they don't stack but oh well...

I currently have lu shang slowl working on gathering GP to get the KI for Ebisu... (~35k atm)

I didn't know if there was anywhere else better to go

I would suggest doing Black Sole in PJ, or Qufim. that will get you to 96. After that, you should have your Ebisu, and should be going after Haks in BG till 110.

What Cohan said is pretty good assessment. I took my fishing mule from 30-95 in PJ doing soles. They are a good fish to skill up on.

Hmm been here for bout hour or so...and getting mostly jellyfish and such lol unless that's just normal...

Got better bite rate from Nashmau as literally 99% of the time w/e came up was either Mercanbaligi or Ahtapot :o

Stick to Nashmau imo, bite rate on Black Sole is crap at lv 60 compared to ahtapots/merc. The higher your skill gets, the better the biterate, and you don't have to worry about jellyfish.

I did Nashmau until lv 85 and moved to Talacca cove. There you had Ahtapots and dils to skillup until 90 and after that I moved to old Moval Armored pisces for strictly skillups. If I wanted money I'd just get some rare skill ups on Lik/Haku/Gugru/etc.
Oh and definitely get a skill up ring! D:

Incase you didn't know, if you pay the 200g to fish in Nashmau where the Ferry leaves there is an NPC right on that wall you can sell the fish to. Will save you like, 20 seconds of running about to npc lol.

Should I just got for 86 here THEN move to Black Sole? (or unless there's another spot for 85+?

or

Just go ahead and move to Port Jeuno now and do Black Sole?

Hmmm based on the guide Diablosword (which from looks of it looks like the same one I used during my earlier skill up journey on ffxi allakazham....

If profit is my main goal:
Level 60-96
========================
Target Fish: Nebimonite (12/27), Noble Lady (51/66), Ryugu Titan (85/100)

If skill is my main goal:
Level 86-96
========================
Target Fish: Black Sole (81/96)

Ferry would annoying due to have to getting on and off the boat plus would only get skill up from 1 of the fish :o

I remember Ryugu titans being a pain to fish before 90, the rod moved too fast to wear them down with a Lu and I didn't have an ebisu yet since they pretty much just came out. They were harder than Gugrusaurus and Lik (though I used the mooching + EX bait method in like 2007 or 08, for those of you who remember Gugru weren't always on the Whitegate ferry :P ).

I skilled on Gugru/Lik and Tallaca Cove until 100 back then, with occasional jumps to the ferry just to change scenery. I'd aim for Titanictus if I were you. They are pretty easy to fish up at cap at 101 or 102. Or you could do Cave Cherax, Armored Pisces, and a few other easy to catch fish. If I remember correctly, I hit 100 on a Titanictus on the ferry too.

Now if you have a monkey friend to help fishing, then Ryugu's won't be a problem. I'd still stick to Titanictus personally if you are only worried about skill ~ They bite a lot.

http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/84574-Fishing-Guide-1-100 =] The cove really worked nice for me, and if you're near the cap of mercans, and wanna move somewhere else, I'd recommend Armored Pisces, I did those before I moved to Haks after getting Ebisu.

Very nice options... My thing was mostly with inventory space... since it would be annoying (of course can't be helped at some point) so have to go back and fourth with fish

Of course I don't have Mooching so unsure if that would be a deal breaker for me :o

(At the bottom of the first post)
86-99 Lugworm or Sinking Minnow, Pterygotus

Those also can be fished right there at port in Nashmau?
If so I wouldn't mind inventory space then bcuz I could NPC the fish there (if Pterygotus isn't worth anything idk haven't looked it up)

You can basically level fishing from 1-100 in Nashmau. It's really nice too, vendors are really close, and you don't have to worry about hooking monsters.

Ive been fishing black sole in Qufim Island in the South ocean and they've been treating me well. Currently at 91 fishing, they are pretty easy to reel in and bite every 3rd cast or so

Ive been using sinking minnow, works well for me. I have a good bit of item releases, but not much else bites sinking minnow.

Depends how high you wanna go and if you have access to the Pelican ring (skill ups increased when used).

To 60, it can be quite fast (for fishing) maybe 2 or 3 levels per day tops if lucky, more with skill up rings. Past 60, My experience was that it slowed down to about 1 level per day, sometimes 2. Picked up when I got my skill up rings to 2 or 3 per day, when fishing to cap (200 fishes).

All that is my experience, people have pointed out ways to skill up on "too small to catch" fishes that don't count towards your fatigue or fish limit, that could be one way to do it, search the main fishing thread for info!

Getting ebisu this weekend. At around 90ish skill wondering if Hak fishing is even worth it. Figure it would be best to do lik or gug till 100 then move to Haks. Kinda tired of doing pisces/sole.

Wow sorry bout the hella necro bump 6 in the morning
