Request: SCH Guide
Is there anyone who would be willing to write an in-depth SCH guide comparable to what has been done with BLU/COR/DNC?
I don't really have it in me to write a guide, but I can tell you everything I know~

Also I think you should specify. Are you looking for a SCH solo guide or a Neo-Nyzul Isle SCH guide?

Looking for a comprehensive guide to endgame equipment, roles in endgame events where scholar outshines other job choices, basics mechanics as they apply to the job...basically the way the BLU/SCH/COR guides are set up on forum that are incredibly helpful. Really, the only way someone will set up such a guide if someone with a real passion for the job feels like doing so.
It's a huge amount of work put into the BLU\DNC\COR guides, and we sadly should'nt expect one for each job =/ SCH outshines other jobs in events where Embrava matters, and that's about the extent of it.
I've started writing one up, but it probably take me a day or 2 to finish though. One is otw though!

Ask pheonix.Minikowalski, he told me he wrote the book on sch

By: A Scholar Step 1: Unlock SCH. Step 2: Level SCH to Level 5, then obtain Embrava. Step 3: Level SCH to Level 30, then leech it in abyssea. Be sure to spam as much enhancing magic has possible during this time. Step 4: After you reach level 99, cap out (and merit 8/8) enhancing magic. Step 5: Obtain the following items; a) Kirin's Pole must be augmented via synergy with a genbu scrap. Best augment is enhancing +12. b) Aptus Earring augment of enhancing +2. Step 6: Accept that, despite having Cureing/Nuking/Enfeebling/etc item sets for a versatile mage, you'll never be used for anything beyond Embrava. The End. Author's Notes: I miss nuking on SCH. ; ; And if you're feeling like going boss mode, try something like this
Everyone plays Scholar a little differently. I'm really anal about saving MP so I have tons of conserve MP gear which affects my nuking numbers. One thing I am proud of is my idle set, with 50% PDT I take less damage than a lot of really badly equipped paladins. :D

Step 7: Accept that, despite having Cureing/Nuking/Enfeebling/etc item sets for a versatile mage, you'll never be used for anything beyond Embrava and Alacrity Stun. The End. Author's Notes: I miss nuking on SCH. ; ; Fixed. And seconded. The main thing I've had trouble gleaning from searching the forums and wikis is the current, most optimal Kaustra set. I suppose it's situational to some extent, depending on how much duration you need (Dark Magic), but if one were to take bgwiki's description verbatim it would suggest to wholly ignore MAB in favor of more INT (floor(floor(0.067*Lv)*(37+floor(0.67*dINT)))).
I realized that's probably D in some other formula due to the Kaustra spreadsheet listed in references, but I was a bit confused about how to really apply the info in the spreadsheet. I got a few pro tips (thanks Lithical!) on my set but I'd like to see more discussion on that topic if a guide were to be written or Sylow's jewels get plugged into a bionic tentacle information extraction machine. I'm still fairly new to the job but I'm really enjoying its versatility! I solo'd a few missions and Plucking Wings to try to de-noob myself but, while attempting to play the job fully, the gem timing and Arts swap balancing act continues to be a fun and challenging area where I can make improvements. aren't sch stun *** as well? for those who are a few yr behind

The best head for nuking is nares head right?? Because you just need the af3+2 head to macro for ebullience and then switch right? Or it doesnt work that way?
ah missed it XD I am actually looking forward to playing sch actually even if it's cookie cut to certain only :3

Af3+2 head must be worn when the spell goes off. so if ebullience is up af3+2 otherwise nares EDIT: damn got beat to it. I might sit down sometime this week and make up a SCH guide like the COR/DNC ones. It'd keep me occupied for awhile xD
Feel free to PM me sets you use or suggestions, tactics, etc. You'll get credit of course. Am I the only one chuckling at the idea that someone wants to become a scholar and yet can't be bothered to study the job by himself?
When playing Scholar it's important to be female and wear that skirt.

I guess there are people who write the books and there are people who read the books. I would consider reading someone's guide a studying the job... but that's just my logic :P |
