8GB Free Space... I Have It ... Confused Help ..

Are you trying to download the POL update, or the FFXI update itself? If it's the POL one, make sure your PS3 has the most up to date console version. They released a patch a few months ago that increased the size of FFXI on the ps3's HDD. (Without that you won't be able to update FFXI it was mentioned in the update notes I think.) If you've done that and are having issues with downloading the physical update don't have any idea what it could be.

You need something like 19 GB for the game now (they increased it from like 10 I think).

So, the PS2 Partition installed by the PS2 System Data is only 10GB. Is there anyway to increase the partition size to 20GB, or are people on PS3 screwed now?

Anything? It's not for me, I play on PC/360. Just trying to figure out what to do...she's kind of freaking out.

There was a PS3 system update back in Feb that expanded the size of the Partition to about 22gb (give or take). If you have FFXI installed do a Check for Updates on the PS3 and it should tell you there's a system update. Install that and it should kick your size up. If you're not getting a prompt for the PS3 system update then idk what to say other than try contacting Sony Support or SE's

PSN updates on tuesdays I think so you might need to wait till next week unless they have already taken steps.
