Why, Arizona? Why?

ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Yeah, if they don't put him on the ballot, I'm just going to write him in, anyway.
You need to punch your representatives in the testicles until they agree to stop this nonsense.
That or write them a strongly worded letter. I'm really just going to leave this HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE state someday, preferably soon.
Wow. I honestly thought all this birth certificate nonsense was settled months ago. /comfort

They have a stand your ground law that lets you legally kill someone if you feel "threatened". Do you find his politics or policies threatening? Someone in that state, while sitting in his SUV shot and killed a pedestrian who was yelling at him. He told the police he felt threatened and was allowed to drive home. I don't care for any of the people running and find this HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE
This is incredibly out of context.
"Bennett, who spoke to Arizona radio host Mike Broomhead Thursday, said he requested the confirmation eight weeks ago and has not gotten it. Hawaii, he said, does not have to supply a certified copy of the birth certificate, merely send him an email confirming that it has one." Here is the article. http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/05/18/ariz-secretary-state-threatens-remove-obama-ballot/ The guy is very clear he is NOT a birther and does believe that the president was born in Hawaii. Also check out this article: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/17/The-Vetting-Barack-Obama-Literary-Agent-1991-Born-in-Kenya-Raised-Indonesia-Hawaii It shows a biography of Obama that says he was born in Kenya. But, he was actually born in Hawaii. But the claim is that Obama would say he was born in Kenya when it gave him an advantage. BTW, I'm not a birther. Don't even start with that crap. Why does he want confirmation on this dead horse issue?
“I believe the president was born in Hawaii – or at least I hope he was,” Bennett said. “They could say yes tomorrow and the whole thing goes away,” Bennett said. “If they can’t say yes to that simple question, then it makes me wonder if we have to take it to another level. One way or another, we have to have some simple verification that people are qualified for the office if they’re going to be on the ballot here in Arizona.” He's a birther, period. The desperation of some to discount the president because he isn't a WASP is absolutely sickening and shows just how dirty some are willing to play to return to the status quo. You don't have to like the president, you can disparage his decisions left right and center and you can actively campaign to have him replaced by Mitt Romney but when I see the birther card played the obvious racism just jumps right off the page and hits you in the nose. This issue has never been used before but once the black guy comes into power it's time to check his papers! Not racist in the slightest. Nope. I don't think he is a birther.
I do think he is out to embarrass the President. After all, Mitt, simply by being a Republican, will take AZ's Electoral College votes whether the President is on the ballot or not. Then embarrass the president on something of substance like the economy, why his policy sucks or what your alternatives are and not using the overtly racist birther tactic. Once he played the 'hes not American!' card, it is open game to call him on it. All this does is display why the Republican party is becoming increasingly hateful of anyone who isn't white, male and protestant christian. Only thing that came to mind when I saw Democracy was:

Zombie Breitbart link aside, stories like that have absolutely no substance or relevance and only serve to pander to the Birther crazies in much the same way this AG's publicity stunt does. If you want to spread around tiresome crap like that, don't be surprised if no one wants to take you seriously. Garuda.Chanti said: » I don't think he is a birther. The Republicans like Romney? That's news to me. Half of the establishment figures give halfhearted endorsements for the guy, the extreme right stomach him simply because their long term goals are safer under Romney's wing than fighting against Obama, the entire campaign is being run as "vote for me because Obama sucks" while Romney refuses to voice is own opinions on topics because he knows the base will hate him if he does. He doesn't even bring up his Mormon faith often because you guessed it.. Republicans don't see that religion as legitimate and so we're left with the current Mitt Romney - an amorphous mass of say whatever it takes to win and maintain positions so long as they're politically expedient. I'm essentially in full agreement on that matter.
It just caught my eye that you at least twice used the word protestant or terminology referring to such, ironically or not, since the fact of the matter is that "Christianity" is divided into so many sects, most of them having but a passing resemblance to each other, and rhetoric suggesting the GOP is shunning those whose beliefs differ than that of their own is, while strikingly accurate, a step short of recognizing the animosity they hold even against one another. In short, I don't think getting out of Arizona should be a long term objective. I'm thinking more along the lines of leaving the country. strange that in Obeezy's books in the "about the author" section it says he was born in Kenya from 1996-2007. also i recall hearing that his lawyer said that they cant hold him accountable on his birth certificate because it was forged anyway... kinda weird. much ado about nothing anyway though i feel, this guy's done much worse things than just being an african lol

This is a sad attempt to inject xenophobia into the race because its all the conservatives have. Lakshmi.Jesi said: » Calling people racist for looking into Obama is about as stupid as the birthers are. Looking into what? What is the ultimate objective of this great wild goose chase? To find that Obama isn't really American? Why has this never come up before in previous elections with previous candidates? Is it because this guy looks different from the others? He's secret Muslim! KGB plant! Manchurian candidate! Antichrist! Reptilian human! The tinfoil hats running around trying to unfurl this grand conspiracy are delusional racists. I imagine they'd do the same for any other race that happened to attain high office but it's amusing that only Obama is under the lens. Should we put McCain under the lens because he was born in the Panama Canal zone? The very notion of 'looking into' Obama is dubious as there is a mountain of evidence that he was infact born in the US but alas evidence doesn't matter when racism taints the mind and convinces individuals that the black guy somehow isn't American. While I am by no means an Obama supporter this is quite ridiculous. He held a public office before he was president, obviously if he weren't an American citizen he wouldn't of been able to become president to begin with.
Put him on the damned ballot, get rid of the damned electoral college to begin with (would probably increase voting), and let people's votes actually mean something. Beyond that, my conspiracy is that if Obama does happen to win a second term, I have a feeling some radical right wing is gonna try and shoot him or something. afk FBI at my door for saying that. the popular vote would be fine short of the fact that the general public are idiots.
didn't Jaerik make a long post about how California's issues can be linked to the fact that anything can be put to a popular vote? (it was awhile back but I'm pretty sure it was him). the general public needs a ruling class, I just disagree with the current one. Well I was just siding on the fact that the general public doesn't vote right now because they tend to feel it as a waste. some do, most just don't care/understand or are too busy to care. At least from what I can tell from observation about people. Probably has a lot to do with the lack of proper education, but considering that's a Nationwide issue that has no real "good" end in sight. What would you rather have? people who don't know who they're voting for, and those people who don't vote for what the people want, or a true democracy where propaganda would be just as if not more effective? how would the populace ever vote for needed tax increases? or other unpopular but necessary things. I'll keep my energy for local/state elections as those can be affected much easier.
