New Imperial Event(s)

Confirmed new event this patch. Did one near Camp Bearded Rock today. Waves of enemies continue spawning, similar to the one at glory, but these are definitely a bit tougher it seems. I'm not sure we won it though, we got a message saying "The Garlean forces withdraw...". No chest or anything spawned after. Anyone else participated in this?

woot beat it this time! Chest drops same items (maddening potions, nerve drops, etc)

Just did the one outside of Gridania, at (x25 ; y28)

Just did 3 in a row in Grid, NPC pops at :35 and :05. Went to LL to try to complete that one, but NPC isn't popping. Maybe it cycles between cities for certain periods of time?

Time is what I'm thinking as well. I'll check limsa in the morning to see if it's there at the same time as it was today.

u guys got a location to look for these things?

Ok, some quick news on this.

1.) Only 20 people may participate in this event at the same time.

2.) I got a "Faded Page" from the chest and have absolutely no effing idea what it's for.

3.) Once the event itself spawns, it goes through three waves of attack, after each of which will come a short 10 or so minute period of rest. You will receive a chest after each wave.

4.) There's an assload of people doing this event atm so be sure you have your finger hovering over F12 when the npc spawns.

5.) I am super *** tired right now so I'm sorry for any grammatical errors I was unable to ascertain, and subsequently correct before going to bed.

Well so far every single event like this has happened in phases where it would appear often for a while (usually appearing maybe 3-4 times) then stop completely for a long period then start appearing again for a while and just continue that cycle of on and off.
They ALL did this so I expect this one will be no different.

TL;DR if someone sees it's happening then it'll most likely happen a few more times before stopping for a while.

These events aren't new , they've been going on for a while now (they're just really random) i remember doing it in the black shroud around patch 1.17 , saw a lot of imperial velez and the archer ones just standing there so i decided to talk to the npc and got my *** kicked fun times fun times.

They won't update it even if you're correct.

- They're slow and not super dedicated. Even if you're right they won't admit it for months.
- Myself, playing FFXI and using this site for many years.

Lol i know Fei , just ask the ppl that have been playing since release i'm pretty sure they've ran into the event in such a random fashion as i have. But back then you didnt have 100ppl trying to do it only around 3 or 4, no reward for pushing them back and most were low level so we got plowed through really easy lol.

Actually this particular event is new. Sure it's almost identical to the previous one but it's still technically a "new" event.

They have periods where one event will be available, it will keep appearing and then after a while that particular one will never show up again.
Then they put in "new" ones which take place in a different area and give a separate lodestone history entry.

The "escape" ones are slightly different but essentially work in the same way.

I did the ul-dah one last nite and there was way more then 20 people involved with it. Still have yet to see the LL or Grid ones.

Anyone figure out a use for these pages yet? I didn't realize till I got one that they're not untradeable/unique, and that they stack.

Most likely future use:
They will most likely be used for Hamlet Defense in 1.22.


Least likely future use:
Used for another live event similar to the Mole Meat turn-in quest given by the Newspaper company NPCs.

Guys, there is a Miqo'te NPC in Grid who tells you that an archon is hiding from the empire in a cave along the path between Humblehearth and Tam Tara Deepcroft. It turns out it's Urianger (the hooded NPC who pops up so often). He's in the cave located @ 30,34 in the Black Shroud.

Uriager doesn't have much to say, except that he's missing his journal, and it wouldn't be good for the empire to get ahold of it. His only vague possible-clue is "I know not where it hath come to rest, yet wheresoever it be, the Empire will be anon".

I've only completed 1 invasion so far, in Grid, and I haven't collected any pages yet. But I'm thinking...what a coincidence, am I right? Who's gonna check this out for us?! I'll go watch for more invasions.

edit: Hmmm....update. The Miqo'te NPC and Urianger were around for several hours this morning, but are now gone on my server (Excalibur). So maybe he also shows in the other regions, and maybe not, but he most definitely doesn't stick around forever.

Thanks for the info. maleko! :D Is he looking for a certain amount of Faded Pages, or does he just take them one by one? Do you happen to know the coordinates of this Miqo'te NPC as well?

I have a few faded pages and can go check this out right now

Edit: Nobody at the grid location at the moment, NPC probably only pops in the area that the invasion is happening. I'll go check around a bit and see what I can find.

Edit2: Invasion is in limsa at the moment, searching every cave I can find but no luck so far. Why must there be so many caves?!

Can't seem to find him, nor can I find any NPC in limsa who speaks of him at all. :(

Was Urianger there alongside when the imperial attacks were there or at a different time?
Sounds promising so I'm going to be keeping an eye out for this event.

Also where exactly did this Miqo'te appear? The usual spot where NPC appear during these events?
